This trick's technique was quite easy to figure out from what I feel... I have mastered the technique or what i am sure is the technique in mastering it and I have not even purchased the video instruction.
Im not really happy with most of the things ellusionist is giving out these days, and really some of the tricks are not to hard to figure out.

Oh and PS hello everyone this is my first post:P

Smoothly done, JackaLen. Though the moiré patterning on your trousers has left me disorientated and unsteady on my feet.

it looks good but I really think you should pratice some more before posting the video, I think this vid exposes the method abit too much.

maybe its the angle?

keep up the good work tho ;)

Nice video! This is based on the coin vanish with a wand. Looks really cool!

For my tuppence, I'd say this is one of my new favourite impromptu effects.

Done ONCE and without any ceremony, it's a real brainteaser.

I performed it on a waiter on my honeymoon, and he was baffled. I did the fingertip version, btw, as I feel the palm version is a little too full of movement.

A fabulous effect, finally one which doesn't rely on the type of glass or coin used.

And the most magical thing about this for me is the fact the coin can be borrowed and signed. And of course, using someone's finger ring is an even better convincer.

Sexton's subtelty of pausing to let the VISUAL aspect sink in is spot on. Like I said, perform the effect without ceremony or overindulgent performance and it speaks for itself.

Nothing can divert this man from his committment to magic.

Also, I assume NUMS is back open now, as you've returned, yes? I thought it was closed until later in the month: perhaps I misrembered the date on the page from when I went there to buy something recently but had to leave, weeping, as you were away water-skiing in Prague or some such thing.

I thought the video for this trick was really good. I just think that the trick itself is pretty obvious (as you can see from the posts above). Which means that in order to this trick you have to practice quite alot.

I figured this out by watching the demo but I couldnt do it to save my life.. and I have a habit of buying up everyhting at the moment so I did anyway..

This doesnt get the most amazing reactions unless u use a high ball glass.. then reactions are better.. once you master the milk bottle.. thats when people HAVE to be convinced..

a good effect.. I think a bit on the expensive side but with enough practice should fool anyone

While I agree with many other people that this trick is pretty easy to figure out (after seeing him do it 3 times I got it), I think that if you don't repeat the trick to the same audience it can be a good effect.

I was also thinking about it today and what would be great is if you did this trick and when someone said "whatever I saw how you did that... etc" you could come back with... "you did huh? Well here, lets do the same thing only lets do it with a bottle and put a cap on the top."

Then you could go into the prohibition trick (this one i like alot) or some other trick where an object penetrates a bottle.

I think that putting this trick as an opener to a more convincing trick would work wonders... what do you think?

Thing is, once you master it.. you have mastered it.

I think some of the earlier tips help in terms of letting the effect sink in.. even reactions are more '' wow, that must take some skill '' id still accept that.. I tend to perform my magic now, selling my ''sleight of hand skills''
and really sell the no gimmicks idea without actually drawing attention to it.. and then I finish with a few effects that disturb their reality and put an end to any idea I gave them about my magic being sleight of hand..

things like 'here then there' svengali routine, raven, PK effects using monster bertha.. or effects using the gaff deck..

I love the build up my new routines are creating.. as the reactions become increasingly spectacular throughout the routine..

I can do the trick and I haven’t even bought it, I laughed when I saw the demonstration on ellusionist and thought its a waste of time, but then I tried it and it didn't seem too bad. I think that if I put some practice into it I can get it nice & smooth but I can't be bothered with this one as I don't think I will fool anyone. Don't recomend it for the previously stated reason but thats only my opinion.

infusion trick

Postby Manolius » Feb 25th, '07, 08:40

this trick looked so simple and straight to the point that i thought it would be good. the method is so simple that indeed it looks more like a pub trick than a magic ilusion. get someone to teach it to you. not worth buying. don't do what i did. my good action of the day.
