Appearing lit candle

Postby Jelmo » Feb 10th, '06, 12:59

Hi I'm maybe going to buy the Appearing Lit Candle by Fantasio.
Has somebody else here already purchased it and if yes, would you please post me a review.

Also, is there a chance I might accidentaly set myself on fire while trying to produce the candle? (Although it would look cool for the audiance, I guess it isn't very amusing for me)

Thanks in advance,
Jelmo

I have one of these but it was bought more out of curiosity than with any intent of performing it. Scott Penrose uses them a lot in his act and it's the most professional performance you could wish to see so is well recommended. If you're careful about how you 'operate' the candle, there's little chance of setting yourself on fire as the ignition takes place at the same time as the 'appearance' and you only do that in plenty of space - not in your trouser pocket or anywhere risky like that!

You would have to be suffiently stupid to set yourself on fire as it lights when it appears. However, The equipment does not come with the abililty to light you have to 'make' that bit yourself. It would be good if your on stage but its a bit inpractical close up. The candle cant be given out either.

PS I wouldn't recomend buying this.

That's exactly what I would have said until I saw Scott do his routine with these - absolute poetry in motion. As with most items, it all depends on how you use them - certainly not something suitable for everyone though.
