Derren Brown and a spectator is sitting at a table. Derren is smokin on a cigarette or something. Then he spreads the cards out and the spectator thinks of a card. He take the cards together and puts them in the box. He then asks the spectator to think of is card and repeat it for himself in his head. Then Derren starts to repeat his card louder and louder.
The spectator freaks out. Then Derren asks where his card was. The spectator says that it was in the middle of the pack. Derren spreads out the cards again and his card is gone.
Then Derren starts to cough. He takes his cigarette in his hands and then its the spectators card!
I love this trick. Does anyone know what this trick is called?

He did it for Stephen Fry and he details the effect in Absolute Magic (actually it might be Pure Effect but I don't have them to hand so I can't check).

I'm a new guy to the devils picture book and I am here to sing its praises. Worth every penny.

Currently practicing "Mikes move" which the selected card is pushed into the middle of the deck but ends up on the bottom with no cutting....brilliant if slightly difficult.

I've converted Devil's Picturebook to DVD as I hear the DVD release has been delayed again.

The Dvd version of Devils picturebook is out already.
I had a copy delivered last week.

Is there anything on it that wasn't on the video?

I've not got the video version so I'm not sure. there is certainly nothing on the packaging or on the programme itself to suggest there is. At the end though there is this really weird section wear Derren is in a stripy suit, putting on a weird voice and trying to blow up model balloons. I'm glad I picked the right day to give up sniffing glue

This is a send-up of a video by expert balloon-modeller Guy Hollingworth (hence 'Golly Highworth'). Very much an in-joke.

And it's a bloody good impression too. I've met Guy (well, not for a beer or owt, just an 'aside helooo' at a show) and he's genuinely just like Hugh Grant in 4 weddings (IMHO).
