Legacy: Heirloom's Darkest Secret

Postby The Last Deck on the Left » Mar 2nd, '06, 13:54

Hi everyone,

After stumbling across this site:

http://www.magic-notes.com

I found this interesting ebook: “Legacy: Heirloom's Darkest Secret's” by the Underground Collective. I love Heirloom and wondered if this was worth the $20.

Cheers,

I've just bought it!

:D

My first impressions are that it seems well worth the £12!

There are some 'new' Uncle Charlie photos to print out, crib sheets and many routines, tips and ideas. There are 57 pages altogether!

I'll have a good read through, and get back to you all in a day or so.

This is how a 'follow up book' or an 'additional routines' book should be (not like the Ellusionist Black Deck Book! - IMHO ! :D)

This is a solid e-book (or rather a plain pdf-file) for those who own the original Heirloom.

Content:
It contains aging techniques (easy and more advanced) for the photographs & letters that the routine uses. These are useful tips, and very necessary for the authenticity of the story and the props. Very effective too, and my pictures look 100 years old!

It explores different ways of ending the story, both with and without letter and also with more than one letter. I agree with the authors that ending with a letter make it even more powerful!
I found it helpful that all the different suggestions included both suggested patter and words to be used in letters.
The book also has alternative endings, including a kicker for direct hits!
The book discusses the use of wallets, and different wallets. Important and necessary.

The book also includes new routines using more or less the same raw material:
One Diary routine (Uncle Charlie's Lucky Card), where your birthday is matched to Uncle Charlies lucky card
Uncle Harry's Poker Hand. A very strong routine and worth the price of the book alone.
The Cursed Card, which uses the Heirloom effects + an old poker deck
Too lucky, a card trick again using the Heirloom pictures as a great ending
In addition you will find material that enable you to make the additional material you need for these routines. In a modern e-book these would be picture files that would be easier to work with than when included in an pdf-text, but with a little bit of computing skills, this is easy to cope with.

Comments:
Very good additional material for your Heirloom, and at a reasonable price. Downlowding was easy and service was good.

I have no problem with the original English language as in my story my Granpa's uncle migrated to America. All material (pictures and letters) are from there.

Endre

Hello,
This is my first post. This is just a test to see if I have this right. I did just buy Heirloom. I will write about it later.
