The Brainwave Deck works on a similar basis but the cards are shown face down adn the specs card is face up and to finish it off their card is a different colour to the rest of the pack!!!!!!!!!

Its MENTAL!!!

I have them select a card from a standard deck and get them to wave the card over the ID and turn it over as they do, this gives me a lot more time and helps if you've got a sloooow brain like mine.

I think that this trick is one of the best, and its cheap. No-one could guess how it works, apart from magicians. It works everytime.

I agree that it's a great trick - I either allow the spectator to think of a card and then I look into their eyes and tell them to concentrate hard on it. After a while I put the pack behind my back, make a little card movement noise then bring it forward to reveal that the card that they name is reversed.
I find that this way gives more ambiguity to the trick - 'did he read my mind?', 'how can he locate a card that quickly without looking?' etc.

The cleaner at work was mightly impressed!

Iam thinking of getting a invisable deck but I dont know how it works. Or if it is self working or what. So could someone explain that to me before I buy?

The deck is self working. Once you buy it and learn the secret it will make sense how it is done. It's pretty easy to do, just make sure your hands are warmed up!

If you are presenting this trick to a small group, why don't you try getting one of them to choose red or black, the next one to choose a heart or a diamond (if for example red is selected) then get a third person to select the number. This way there can be no question of a set up.

Tony,
Tried it your way (each person naming an element of the card)... very powerful! Blew them away!

Thanks for that tip!

This is truly a clasic of card magic, easy enough for the beginner to perform, yet good enough for the professional. I have seen Harry Blackstone Jr, and David Blane do this trick, just to name a few. It has been a favorite of mine for years. The secret is clever enough that the average layman never comes close to guessing it. The comic element of starting the trick with a "ID", is great. (I pretend to sneek a peek at my volenteer as they choose there card from this ID, and it always gets a laugh.) If you do card magic, and don't already own this trick, you should get it. You woln't be dissapointed.
