Name : The Web
Price : £7.99 Abrakazam
Type : Card
Examinable : Yes, but I dont think they will!!
Reset : Almost instant
Time To Learn : 10mins
Difficulty : 1-2
What you get : A pack of Four cards (Bicycle) and a LARGE spider!!

Effect : Four BLANK cards are counted onto the spectator's hand. Then pictures of a spider's web begin to appear on the cards. You ask the spectator to wave his hand over the cards, where upon he finds a large and realistic spider stuck to the back of his hand. The spider load is undetectable. Watch as your spectator leaps in the air and screams...... ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Comments : This is great fun, when I opened the pack I jumped when I seen the spider!! If you know someone who is always saying "I know how you did that" or "do that trick again", perform this trick they will be left silent!!!!!

Rating 7/10

Hey Ace

Great review. I have the web but can't think of a way to make the cards examinable because of a certain number of cards( you know what I mean). I was wondering if you could tell me how you can give them to spectators or what to say?
Thanks Ace
Jamie

Hi Ace
How easy is it to get the spider onto the spectators hand?
Graham

I've just bought The Web, and it looks simple and a lot of fun. However it uses an established card count ... but the instructions don't describe how to do it! I'm in the middle of researching how to do the count now, which I don't feel I should have to do, having paid good money for a trick.

Ian, a good tip that i received from teejay is to not use the cards and use a glass tumbler instead. Load the spider and then place the face down tumbler on their hand, ask them to put the other hand on top. Ask if they like crawly things, wave your hands over the glass and something should appear, it doesn't. Then you hold the glass as they did and ask them to wave their hands, voila.

A much better trick in my opion is butterfly love, its pretty much the exact same trick, except with a caterpiller turning into a butterfly(which appears on the spectators hand). a much more beautiful effect than scaring the spectator with a spider. However, this being halloween its a great trick for the time of year.

I don't think it's fair to do this to the spectators. I don't think i would get ant repeat business if i still did this trick.

There's just the spectators shock - no magic that anyone notices. I'd rather live without it.

I think they are talking about the elmsly

You don't NEED to include it, but it makes it look a lot better...

It's always nice to see old threads restarted but after over 4 years  ? There are other threads in connection with the 'shock' aspect of The Web and the advice was to choose your spec very carefully before doing this. It doesn't use the Elmsley but it does use the Flustration Count and it's easy enough to learn and do in practice.
