XTC Deck: Xtreme Training Cards

Postby NaipesEnJuego » Mar 25th, '06, 16:35

WTF is this?

http://www.ellusionist.com/order/XTC-De ... s.php?cat={CATEGORY%20ID}

I just want to believe this is not just a glue deck with some roghing fluid which make packets of cards so this won't slide and fall to the floor...

NE1 got an idea?

Thanks in advance.

I just looked at that and I, too, am really confused. They never truly explained what it was. It was like "Best deck on the market to practice flourishes and throws! Stays in your hand, not the floor."
:?:

Thanks,

or you could just Sellotape your deck into packets for practising cuts.
or hole punch the corner of each card in the same place and tie some thread through it for practicing fans. simple as!

The hole-punch one sounds like something I should use. BUt I should also get a dvd or book to help me with them. Staying on topic though, it seems like this deck is kind of a rip-off. But don't quote me.

Thanks,

yeah.. it's just a roughed up deck..

alot of XCM'ers are pi**ed off that this deck is associated with them...

i just want the person who made this deck do some real XCM moves... (i.e. an armspread)... or maybe even doing a simple fan?

This was posted at the Ellusionist Forums...
If De´vo wanna stay out of it,... there´s must be a reason. :D

XTC Deck and Ellusionist
Hey everyone,

We recently read some posts by De'vo on various forums and we have been in contact with him via email. The XTC deck is a new product that Ellusionist carries. We did not produce this item, nor did we come up with the initial concept. However, we did like the idea and we felt that this product could help a lot of people who are learning the wonderful art of XCM. We still feel this way.

For those who are experts in XCM, this product probably won't help out much. For those who are learning XCM from various training materials, we feel that this product can help out a lot. We know that spending valuable practice time picking up dropped cards is not the way to improve your XCM skills. This product helps people still work on XCM material, and it helps people drop cards less.

Is this, or any product, perfect for every customer? Of course not and we know this. On the other hand, we feel that this is a good product that can help people learn XCM faster because they can spend their practice time practicing, not picking up cards.

We are also not the only store to carry this product. All other major retailers are carrying the XTC deck, as well. The product description that we have on our site is nearly identical to what other retailers are using, as it was the ad copy provided by the manufacturer of the product. The only change is that we credited De'vo for the XCM term on our site. We then received notice from De’vo that he did not want his name mentioned with this product, so we have removed all references to him from the product page. That is why the product page has changed to what you will currently see today.

We hope that this clarifies the reality of this product and Ellusionist's position with it. Further posts about this issue will be removed, as many posts on other forums contain misleading information.

Cheers,

Chris Schuh
Team Ellusionist

De'vo wrote:Some of you may of heard of this deck or have seen my name attached to it against my will. I have left Ellusionist.com for trying to use my name and products to sell this piece of ****. I know I may lose sales and so forth, however I will not be a part of anything attempting to trick XCMers into buying a product that misleads and lies about what it is. Sure there are other companies that are doing this and they are wrong as well.... but not companies that I have worked with for 3-4 years and have a long-standing relationship with. Exclusives, several forums, not to mention the viper deck was actually supposed to be produced through superhandz - given to E out of the kindness of our hearts. You don't slap people you have a relationship with in the face.... other companies... sure.... I can understand that... just tryin to make a buck off of others... but Ellusionist? I thought they were over that... guess not.

SO WHAT IS THE XTC DECK?
It's a deck that has roughing spray on both sides of the deck making the deck stick together.

THE CLAIM AND WHY IT'S ********!
The claims from both it's makers AND magic companies to include Ellusionist.com is that it will help XCM. This is ********! It is IMPOSSIBLE to do a fan with this deck. It is IMPOSSIBLE to spread or slide the cards in a normal manner. It is near IMPOSSIBLE to do 90% of all XCM moves with this deck! XCM consists of Fans, Armspreads, Perching, cuts, shuffles, displays and many other kinds of moves. People like Chris Schuh from Ellusionist claims that this deck will help your XCM even though it is virtually unfannable, unspreadable and unusable in XCM routines. Chris is not a XCMer, he is an ametuer magician yet represents Ellusionist and speaks on behalf of XCM with these false claims and is trying to sell this deck by trickery. This is the reason they are keeping what this deck really is a secret. Many many posts have been deleted from their website that "exposed" that this deck is just a deck coated in something similar to hairspray. Because as soon as XCMers know this fact, they KNOW that this will NEVER help you with your XCM! They will also KNOW that the add copy is full of **** and wonder why any company would sell such a ripoff directed at XCM.

WHAT PRODUCT WORKS AND REALLY HELPS?
Fanning powder - as advertised in the XB DVD, fanning powder will help you cards stay together! They will also help you FAN, and spread the cards! If you want your cards to stay together a little better, then follow the instruction in XB. Buying a sticky deck won't do anything for you!

WHAT'S UP WITH THE ELLUSIONIST POSTS
I had deleted my posts but since Ellusionist sees it fit to produce a sticky on their website I will explain what is up.

In short, Ellusionist like many companies are about the dollars. They used me to sell the XTC ******** product. They disrespected me by not consulting me first, used my trademarks, and products which seemed like I was endorsing a product so they could make more money. They continue to sell a product that in their advertising "helps with XCM" when in reality you can't even do a single fan or spread with it!!!! It really hurts your XCM if you think you are going to do XCM with it. But hey, what do I know about XCM???? I will not be used to sell a ******** product to the XCM market group and it meant that I leave E to do so.... and I am fine with that really. There is plenty of ******** that they have done and continue to do,,, that I will leave alone..... I will continue to kick***!

NOW WHAT?
As some of you may or may not know, my products are no longer exclusive with Ellusionist and all other SH/HL and all our future products will not be available to them either. I will also no longer participate or provide upkeep to their forums. I will put the focus on bonuses and upkeep of the Handlordz product forums as well as on my own companies and XCM. I will ask my fellow XCMers to support XCM and not to support companies that use trickery and such to try and sell to XCMers.

THE FUTURE
The future never looked better!!! We will continue to lead the way and set the example for others to follow. Many more products are coming, our store is getting a revamp and more surprises await!

Thanks for reading and take care,

De'vo

Yes De'vo does swear a fair bit, but I totally agree with him. I haven't really touched my "XTC" deck since I've got it.

Ellusionist strikes again.. They just deleted every message regarding these deck, when it came out. Now I know that it is a rough deck, thanks to De'vo. They just gave hyped product explanations. I bet many people wouldn't get this deck if they knew it was a sprayed deck.

And I really appreciated De'vo for his behaviour..

I'm glad I never shopped at Ellusionist.

They sound like fascists

You wont find much better anywhere and it's nothing - a rigmarole with a few bits of paper and lots of spiel. That is Mentalism

Now see, I like Ellusionist. I've gotten almost all of my DVDs from them, but what they did when they released this deck was sneaky and very very greedy. They labeled it. Giving it the reputation of De'vo. I thought that was a very dumb move on Ellusionist's part. I guess they are reaping what they sow now.

Thanks,

Yes, I started magic with Crash Course series, I still like them but I can't recommend E to anyone, anymore. They start to sell hyped products with high price, and deleting many messages from forums.

If it wasnt for ellusionist I wouldnt be doing magic now!! I bought the entire beginners package, and it was so helpful but he did skip over some stuff quite quickly.

I have bought almost £100 of downloads off there, but most products i now get off ebay after searching ellusionist

But over the last couple of months, i am awakning to the commercialism associated with ellusionist. It is like a HMV store, looks cool but its all about sales.

I now buy from magicshop.co.uk and use these forums to search for help.

Ellusionist is a good starter point for magic ( just actually buy the products off ebay cheaper ) and then move on.

I want to learn the classic force, i know how it works but i suck at it. what is the BEST source to learn from.? same foes for the classic pass? 'Pass with care?' supposed to be good. Also i want to learn some advanced colour changes?

I have actually ordered the red gaff deck from ellusionist and the army of 52 dvd. this looks so cool, and some of the stuff in there i dotn know.
