Hey,

Im making a new website for magicians, and am hoping for your input.

It occured to me that there are loads and loads of different magic reviews everywhere over the web, and that it would be much more useful for :

- All the reviews to be in one place (e.g. all the reviews for an effect can be searched for on one site, and it will bring up a page of relevant reviews)

- On the same page, a product description, and any known demo videos.

- On the same page, a list of known suppliers and their prices.

- Also listing reviews of the suppliers with one click, and displaying a star rating of the supplier.

A feature I am also adding is a tie-in idea from gomagicgo, which lists if they have been nominated for "hype of the week".

Here is a quick look at the site so far :

The website is still several weeks from completion, and I was just wondering what your feelings were towards any other features that should be added, or indeed, about what you think about the website idea in general.

I am not sure that TM people would find this very usefull? we spend hours if not days talking to each other about reviews and prices etc etc,

I wouldn't be bothered to go to such a site, as I like to find my own reviews and prices, if this type of search engine was to happen however I would like it to happen on Talk Magic, but this has been disscussed before on here and went nowhere.

But if you think it is a goer then do it and good luck, but can you really keep up to date with all the price changes and special offers being offered?

I'm sure that your search engine (or whatever you want to call it) will still do fine though, this forum has 5312 members, probably only 1/2 (if not less) of them are active members, and that is out of the *guessing* millions of magicians out there in this world. Somebody is BOUND to use it.

I would add "ad's by google" for some revenue, and maybe use a CMS (content management system) for organizing and ease of use- one good CMS is Joomla! ... But there are a ton of them out there, just search google.

[edit] BTW, I like the logo, it's simple, effective (gets the point across), and most importantly: it's easy to remember.

Sorry, I missed out your question earlier, I will hopefully be able to develop an auto-updating system which will update every week or so.
