Name: The Naked Zombie Ball DVD
Author: Raymond Crowe
Price: Unsure, about £20+
Publisher: International Magic
Date: New Release
Length:
Out of 10: 8
Contents:
He shows how to do a Zombie Ball routine, without the gimmick or cloth.
It also shows how to do miming for things such as weight, holding position and movement.
You start of with seeing the act, in a black and white silent film, to show how miming is important for the act. It then goes to colour,to show the actual routine, but still just to music.
Then you go onto lessons in miming and how to perform without the gimmick. Each move is gone through in turn, spending a few minutes on each and how they should look and how to improve on your style.
You can also use a ring from a linking ring set, with a gimmick on the inside of the ball, which he describes. The gimmick helps the ball attatch to the ring.
There are some bonus features on miming to use in your act.
Comments
I think it is a good buy for anybody wanting to do a Zombie Ball routine. I feel it is better without using a cloth because it feels like you have nothing to hide. I also think the miming techneques will be good both for silent acts or normal acts, not just for the Zombie Ball. _________________ I like David Copperfield and David Blaine, but I don't want to be them, I want to be me

I've just bought this DVD and will add a review over the weekend once I've watched it. Another one to consider as a beginner to the Zombie is Tim Wright's Zombie which I have just watched and will also review.
In terms of the Zombie, the Naked Zombie is supposedly one of the best DVD's and that is some previously unseen content that teaches some new methods so it should be an interesting comparrison to the Tim Wright one.

I will keep my eyes open for Tim's version.
PS does it use a cloth, because that's what I like about the Naked Zombie Ball it does not use one.

It does use a cloth and there are pro's and cons for both methods. _________________ Member of the Magic Circle & The 2009 British Isles Close-Up Magician of the Year
