Credit Card Change

Postby magicands » Thu Apr 28, 2005 8:16 pm

This effect is simply a workers dream, with a skill level of 1 and a visual effect of 100 its just unbeatable Magic.
The effect, for example, is that the performer has a card selected and returned. He states that in his wallet he made a prediction by placing a playing card inside it earlier on in the day. He goes on to say that he is so confident that the card in his wallet is correct that should he be proven wrong the spectator can gladly have his Credit card. The Magician shows his credit card inside the wallet.
The spectator names his card and, to cut a long story short the Magician's prediction is wrong.
True to his word the Magi removes his credit card and as he is about to hand it to the spectator he asks once more what card the spectator had chosen. The 5 of clubs says the helper. The magican tosses his credit card into the air where it visibly changes into a blue backed 5 of Clubs.
The card is caught & shown freely on both sides.

This is a wonderful transposition of a credit card into a playing card.
Its cheap at about £8, takes less than 5 seconds to reset and is a must have item for the street or table worker.

I rate this effect very highly & suggest that you get one for yourself.

Good effort at a review there but if you look at the sticky in the reviews forum you will find a template that we like to use for future reviews. It also helps prompt you on things you may forget such as where its from etc!!!

You could try The Trickery but that's nowhere near £8...

Available from

I did not say where it was available from as I thought this might be classed as blatant advertising of a company.
Any good US Magic shop on the web should stock it & £8 is a general price, that's what I paid for mine.

Thanks for letting me know about the review template, I will ensure that I use next time round.

It's quite OK to mention the source , or sources, of a trick or item being reviewed and in fact it helps others decide if they want to buy the item or not. When TM was closely linked to emagictricks.co.uk we had to edit posts a little more severely but that's no loger the case. We only class posts as advertising when they're from strangers who are just promoting their own, or someone else's, stuff without any previous forum history or contribution.

In That Case

I got the item from Hocus Pocus Magic in Fresno Ca.
The website can be found at www.hocus-pocus.com.
I do not know what they are charging for Credit Card change as we speak but if its the same price as the Trickery its still worth every cent/penny.

If anyone from the UK is interested in this Bob Swadling has a VERY well made version for £10. He also has a version where a red backed card turns into a completly different blue backed card when it is thrown into the air. This is also £10.

Hope that helps
