The Web

Postby Najis » Tue Apr 12, 2005 12:14 pm

Hi Guys, I have recently purchased 'the Web' off ebay and thought that I had purchased the whole trick. The reason I say this is that the trick involves a sleight called the 'flushtration' count which leaves me 'flushtrated' at the fact that I have no idea what this is and there are no instructions for this sleight included. Could somebody possibly enlighten me?

Thanks in advance

I think this is a way to appear to show each card both front and back when in fact you dont.

Sorry - no-one will give you details here. There are teaching DVDs, such as Daryl's and Allan Ackerman's series. Check them out - they contain loads of useful information. Their teaching styles are different and some prefer Daryl whilst others prefer Ackerman.

I'm usually quite amazed when I see postings like this.

Now I'm not having a go at you personally per-say but I went to Google and entered "Flustration count" and clicked on the first entry and found a step by step instruction delivered to the screen right in front of me on my own little computer.

Folks, you have one of the most powerful imformation tools in the world in front of you right now, you HAVE to put a bit of effort in if you want to learn stuff...

Actually it does tell you the flushtration count in step 3 and 4 of the booklet. Read it back to yourself and eventually you'll get the hang of it, I had the same problem as you when I bought the trick.

Thanks ouch-kabible, I did and your right. Although when I first read the instructions they wasnt very clear.

I understand your point and about checking the internet first but please understand im new to forums and also magic so please bear with me.

Also I would much rather interact with people than just look at a web page, this is why i joined the forum in the first place.

Thanks

Try to purchase the book: Counts Cuts Moves & Subtleties by Jerry Mentzer, its a great book that has no magic, only every sleight you might find in any packet trick! I think its available at Magic books by post for about £7.00. I've had it for years and its the best fiver I ever spent, I think it was a fiver when I bought it! :)

This got me thinking for a change. Of course Tom's right in what he has said (as always  ) but once again I noted that someone has another issue with magic purchased off ebay.

It's not quite clear if the instructions for this trick have not been included, or if the instructions have been misread. Whichever it is, the growing number of posts on this and other sites that enquire about items bought on ebay, is surely an indicator of the benefits of buying from a reputable magic dealer.

No doubt there are many who use ebay to sell legitimate products but we also know that there are many out there who are after the quick buck and will pass on incomplete, damaged and counterfeit items without conscience and to the first person to stump up the cash.

Personally, ebay would be the last place that I would buy magic.
