I know there is already a topic for this somewhere, but I can't find it.

Everyone seems to think it involves a scale, I was so sure I even designed my own using a cashier's balance.

However, I asked Derren Brown, and he said that everyone thinks its done with a scale, and everyone's wrong.

Obviously he's a proffesional liar, but he seemed sincere.

I presume you asked "is it done with a scale?" rather than "how did you do the button trick?"

The conversation went pretty well like this -

Me: "Look, I have to ask, counting buttons. It's done with a scale in the table isn't it?"

Derren: "No. Everyone seems to think that, but I try to keep electronic things down to a minimum. I used to do it with smarties, you can do it with anything with lots of colour"

Me: "It's just I saw you do it live once, and someone dropped some buttons and you got very aggitated saying 'in the bowl or on the tray please'"

Derren: "I had probably got it wrong already hadn't I?" (He had, by one button) "That gets me aggitated 'cause its such a great trick"

Me: "oh well,"

There followed the continued groveling and butt kissing - after all, it was Derren Brown.

Using the Search Function above right shows http://www.talkmagic.co.uk/ftopic5748.php&highlight=derren+brown as the original thread so it would be best to continue on that one rather than start another. Very Happy
