Diplopia
by Paul Vigil
Available as download + limited number of hardcopies from Steve Ferason's new website:
www.emagicsupply.com
for just $14.95 (add $10.00 for the hardcopy).
Effect: The spectator is asked to read the magician’s mind and remove the card they feel is being concentrated upon. The magician does the same. With no questions asked the magician finds the spectator’s card – and the spectator finds the magician’s!
They say:
Diplopia is completely impromptu and can be done with a borrowed deck. This is not your average card trick. Listen to what these pro's had to say about Paul Vigil's Diplopia...
“One of the most baffling card effects I have ever experienced! Now it can be in your tool kit.” - Jeff McBride
“I spend my life traveling and believe me I have seen my share of card locations. I have never and I mean never, been so fooled by any other card location...EVER! When Paul finally got tired of me begging to know the method I was even more impressed at how clever it really was.” - Chris Kenner
“The effect and procedure are clear and well structured; imbued with mystery and impact. Your nuanced mix of methods is more than just clever combination or variation. Diplopia matters.” - Michael Weber
“Impeccable.” - Paul Harris
Review:
I received an e-mail from Steve's new company and thought from the description that this is a pretty powerful effect. It presents in similar fashion to Al Koran's effect in Professional Presentations, but with this version, you can literally be in any venue and use any deck of cards.
You learn a much coveted secret called the infinity principle, some excellent rhetorical strategies, and a very powerful third utility that dates back to the 17th Century!
I ordered the e-book and the hardcopy. The e-book was an instant download and the hardcopy is on its way with free postage.
The effect needs a lot of practice and good investment in the handling, but all good effects do. I like the combination of principles and the cleverness of the sequences.
In my book, this is one of those golden effects that you can do anytime, anywhere, and it will certainly fool many a magician as well. The endorsements above are not hype, this is a really great effect!
I give this 10 out of 10. _________________ Dr Todd Landman

Just what I didn't want to hear - I was hoping it would get a mediocre review, stating that it was impractical etc . Oh well .... I must resist, I MUST resist
Just one point - what difficulty level would you give this Are there any knuckle-busting moves to perform etc
Thanks for the review by the way . _________________ QUESTION:

Moonbeam. Buy it, and buy it now!! I'm a beginner and can get this to work, there's no knuckle busting moves. The presentation will need some work for a beginner like me, but the effect is nothing other than staggering. I can't perform this yet purely because at this point I don't think I can do it the justice it deserves but for someone with more experience in performance you will get so much out of this and your audience will be nothing short of astonished!! Don't resist, reach for you Credit Card now. Sincerely, you won't regret it.

Aaaarghh - it's a conspiracy lol
I'm prob gonna end up getting this, but in the meantime, I'll just wait and see if anyone has anything bad to say about this .
You never know, I might just be persuaded to not buy it and poss save myself a few quid . _________________ QUESTION:

Yes it is worth while, but you will need to put the work into it to have the confidence needed to perform it.
It isn't just a great effect though, you get the principle and you get to do it with a shuffled borrowed deck. I believe the term is FASDIU (from a shuffled deck in use)

Hmmm.... that is the second time I have seen FASDIU used!
I was practicing this last night. While the infinity principle is super, I think the other subtlety is absolutely amazing and beyond detection within the context of this effect. It will travel well to other mentalism effects.
This is a sound investment. _________________ Dr Todd Landman

Just ordered this about an hour ago and had a read through it, I will say the method is absolutely genius so now all that's left to do is put a few weeks practise into it Definately 10/10 _________________ L J M |

Gah - where the heck did that PayPal screen come from?
One moment, I was reading about the limited edition, signed booklet - only 100 available - the next, there was this huge, "PAYMENT CONFIRMED" all over my screen.
I hate you guys! _________________ CURRENTLY LEARNING: How to Control CUPS...

Rob honestly you won't regret it, the principle involved could be used in other effects if you didn't wont to use it for the effect supplied and being able to do it with a genuine borrowed, shuffled deck you really can't ask for more. _________________ L J M |

Thanks for the reassureance Lindz - much appreciated.
I didn't want to download this just yet, with being at work, so I'm having to wait until I get home to grab my D/L copy, and have a good lookie; getting the printed/signed/numbered hardcopy, for me, is just the icing on the cake _________________ CURRENTLY LEARNING: How to Control CUPS...

| To partially atone for my actions, I'm not going to open the download but, instead, force myself to wait until the booklet arrives from the New World. I hope to feel better about what I've done, yet again, after this little bit of self-flagellation. And also, if time permits, a little bit of self-flagellation. |
