Rubber Bands

Postby bananafish » Sat Apr 05, 2008 9:07 pm

This isn't much of a review, however for a long time now I have been searching for good quality no. 19 size coloured rubber bands.

Well, finally Card Collection are selling an assorted colour bag of 100. for £1.50

I am sure these bands are more readily available in the US and other countries, but in the UK they are very difficlut to come by.

Fantastic for effects such as cmh etc, however for effects like Harlan's Linking bands, where more than one colour is prefered, then they are simply the best.

If you do band effects a lot - then they are definitely worth getting.

Odd. The link just redirected me to the thread!

Glad you found some good elastic bands too! I always had trouble finding suitable ones - I might even go get myself a bag for £1.50!

Yes the link was a bit iffy

Try this http://www.cards4magic.co.uk/acatalog/search.html and search for bands

I spent months searching for good coloured number 19 bands in the UK, not sure why they were so difficult to find. But these ones are the bees knees of bands.

Brilliant!
I haven't been able to perform CMH in the spec's hands for a while now, simply because the bands I could find were either the right length but too thick, or the right girth but too short.

I'm sick of the looks I get in the shop when I'm really picky about the bands.

A very kindly member of TM shared their bands with me a while back - I believe they're called "Alliance Gold" and are extremely stretchy, in case someone else chances upon them in a stationary shop.

It's amazing how limited the stock of stationary shops is when you want something specific... they've got all the rubber bands in the world until you want one that's just right...!

For those not too fussed about colours, I last bought size 19 bands at Staples. For £1.50, though, I'll buy myself a bag or two of these to find out what the fuss is all about!

I couldn't get the picture up to have a lok but if they're the Japanese ones in the yellow packet then they're just about the best bands I've used. Super stretchy!

Because the packet is printed in Japanese I use this in my routine to demonstrate how thier bands are different and use better rubber band technology. Always fools a number of the specs who are taken in by the story

They seem to have those too, for £2 a pack.
