Bleeding Candle, Devil's Deck & Dice with the Devil

Postby Stephen Ward » Jul 19th, '06, 13:03

b]The Effect[/b]

I got these all at once as they really are a bargin!

Bleeding Candle

At any time of your show you light a candle. After a while blood appears to come from the candle and drips down the side.

Dice With The Devil

A dice rolls different numbers each time, but everytime the spectator rolls the dice it rolls a 6. Repeat three times to roll 666.

The Devil's Deck

A great gothic deck that is ideal for many presentations. Ambitious card looks great with this.

Cost

All from www.blackhart.co.uk

Bleeding candle £6.00
Devil's Deck £5.50
Dice with the devil £5.50

Difficulty
(1=easy to do, 2=No sleights, but not so easy, 3=Some sleights used,
4=Advanced sleights used, 5=Suitable for experienced magicians only)

Easy. Cards depend on the routine you perform!

Bleeding Candle

You get one candle all ready to bleed as you light it. You also get 'something' to make several more bleeding candles. Instructions for use and making more candles are included. I really like this effect, it looks really strange on my table when i am performing a static show. I use two candles. You do not even have to keep it lighted, just the sight of dried blood on a candle looks good. It works with several different candles, but i would recommend getting the same size candles as Keith provides.

The Devil's Deck

This deck looks great and is ideal for story telling and bizarre effects. I only had it a few hours and had invented 3 routines and stories to go with it  You do not get just the deck, you get some very nice ideas and tips for use. The nature of the deck means it has some very useful properties for certain effects. The pictures on the deck are very good quality. The deck does not come in a box it is shrink wrapped but i had the idea of wrapping it in black ribbbon. You could also use one of those gothic metal or wood card boxes (Keith has some).

Dice With The Devil

Very nice 2cm plastic dice. You get two dice. How you use it depends on your confidence and skill level. You could use a leather or plastic dice cup. I use my hands to perform it. You do not get a script with it, but let's be honest here you don't need it do we. We all know the Faust myth so just use that.

Overall

i give everything a 9. Keith has not let me down yet and i don't he will. Great stuff. My only complaint is that he does not sell DVDs of his shows it would be great to learn from the Hart himself

here here with the dvd comment!

i didn't like the look of the artwork personally for the cards, i'd of liked it if they were just black 'n white images - kinda smeared and weathered looking...they look too 'cartoony' for my liking...

the dice and candles are genius too...and same here, never had a bad thing from Keith Hart and he's very helpful too - bless 'im!

If you like old cards then maybe Witchfinder General may be good for you. This is next on my 'Keith' list
