Ninja Coin Set

Postby Its magic » Aug 13th, '06, 15:02

From http://www.merchantofmagic.co.uk/

Price £29.99

Difficulty 1-10

1!!

They say
You show two Chinese coins and explain that they have magical powers. They have the ability to change themselves into any coin that is pressed against them , regardless of it's shape, size or colour. To demonstrate the unique ability of the coins, you ask to borrow a 50p coin from a spectator and place it on top of one of the Chinese coin. Both are pressed together and the Chinese coin transforms into a 50p coin! You explain that the Ninja Coin is a master of disguise and will copy any coin it comes into contact with. You can show the spectators how the coin transforms back from a 50p coin to a chinese coin when touched by a chinese coin.

Finally you take both chinese coins into your hand and toss in the remaining 50p coin. When your hand is opened ALL THREE HAVE BECOME 50p COINS!

The Ninja Coin Set allows magicians to transform a Chinese coin into a 50p coin instantly and without sleight of hand ! It seems totally impossible to the spectators as the two coins are so radically different in size, shape and colour!

NO MAGNETS
NO SWITCHING COINS
NO PALMING
NO BANDS OR SHELLS

Includes full easy to follow instructions PLUS techniques to transform the coin into other coin values!

ADDITIONAL ROUTINE:
After transforming the Ninja Coin into a 50p coin, you ask the spectator to name ANY value UK coin for the Ninja Coin to copy. Lets say the spectator chooses a 10p coin. You take a 10p coin from your pocket and rub it against the Ninja Coin. Instantly the coin changes from a 50p into a 10p coin! Both coins are handed out for examination! (this routine requires some super simple sleight of hand which is taught in detail!

Comments

I thought should I review this because everyone will want these.

What it says above is totally true, which is more than can be said for some.

The effect is so good I keep doing it in front of the mirror.

How can a round coin with a hole it it turn into a 50p, well these can and they are very well made.

They can not be examined so I recommed switching the coins by adapting the routine. I have linked this up by buying the extra matching coins and going into the Charming Chinese Challenge straight after this which lets me switch the gimmiked coins out for normal ones that I hand to the spectator to put on the ribbon, so in their mind they are handling the same coins.

There is only on tiny angle on this trick if anyone was very close to your hands or staring intently they may spot something, but being aware of this will prevent it being a problem even surrounded.

The posibilities if you buy some of the matching coins as well are endless.

The quality of the coins in very good.

I score these 9 out of 10

Why not 10?

The extra coins are £9.99 each!!!!

This is a liitle steep and I am sure may put some people off.

Even without the extra coins the routine is great and very visual. I recomend buying at least one extra coin that way you can logically reverse the routine to change the coins back to Ninja coins.

You must have good eyes to see how its done from the video!!

If you know your coins then yes you know the move as it is used in other routines.

This trick in essence is nothing new, just a new variation of an old time classic.

I disagree it won't fool anyone, I have had this over a week now and everyone has been amazed and I must have done it at least a dozen times.

I don't actually handle the coins the way the clip shown, I have the coins in opposite hands and rub them ontop of each then spread them apart. Doing it this way I have to careful not to lose track of which coin is which!!

I am sure in time this will take its place along side the likes of copper silver brass etc

Do you own this effect? I'm assuming you don't - but it doesn't mean you should just come on here and trash it like that. If you don't think the effect is good (by the way - saying "this trick will fool no one" is a terrible idea), feel free to say so, but try to do it in a more respectful manner.

Yep sorry, I assume that my comment was kinda bad... Well it's maybe because I was impress of this 9/10 (Good review and everything) so I decided to look at the video( maybe it's just the video that is not well done) and during the first move, I saw the trick... Anyway sorry for my comment, I will try to be more calm next time :?

Just because you think or know you see the method it does NOT mean the spectators will. Remember that we know what we are looking for, i often watch things and think i see a 'flash' but when i watch again i notice it is because i know what is going on. This is a Real World effect that DOES fool the audience when presented in a confident and correct manner.

I have also bought the e******d s***l to go with the extra coins I purchased at the same time as the coin set.

I had a problem though that the coin that came with the S***l was thicker than the originals being sold.

To give Dominic his due I told him what was wrong, returned the coins and he replaced then all with ones from a new batch.

The s***l is quite good it covers the whole edge, which is good if someone is burning your hands, but not so good if the coins are next to each other on the table as it is obviously going to be thicker.

I suppose its a trade off you can't have both!!

I have tried it on family and they have not spotted it so it passes the initial test well, although I am still a little uncomfortable with it only because of the thickness.

I'm more into cards than coins and am still waiting to buy my first big coin effect since things like Dynamic Coins which I picked up as a nipper.

That video has put me off buying this effect though. Saying that, in other hands I'm sure it could be more impressive and effective. Are there any other demos out there?

I would say a as venture into coins this is a good start.

They are easy to handle and there is no noise to worry about, unlike some other sets of coins.

You get two in the set, but if you purchase a regular spare coin you can tranform them and logically change them back again by keeping the spare to one side.

It also reminds the spec' what the change was from and you show this one clearly for examination before you begin which takes the heat of the two in the hand.

This does fool people I had one guy so amased he wanted to see it over and over and he was still noware near guessing how it was done.

I do not regret this purchase at all in fact it goes out with me all the time, plus coins take up no room at all.

If you like the idea of coin magic with a set of coins then this should be on your list.

I have one of these and its the best value way to get a spare coin.

It covers the whole edge which is good or bad depending on how you look at it.

I like it beacause you can continue the magical properties claim of these coins through to other effects showing they don't just change shape.

i think this ttrick can be accompanied by voodoo stories. it would make the trick more interesting and it is up to the magician and the coins to convince the audience that the story is true
