The Chameleon Card Wallet

Postby Johnny Bravo » Oct 4th, '06, 03:16

The Effect
Blurb from alakazams web site.

A blank faced card is freely shown and openly placed into a simple leather ID wallet. The back of the blank faced card is clearly visible through a cut out window in the wallet. Next a spectator selects a card from a shuffled deck and places it face up on the table.

Explaining that the blank faced card is a ‘Chameleon’ card, the selected card is waved over the wallet. The blank faced card is removed from the wallet and shown to have magically transformed itself into a duplicate of the selected card and the wallet is shown to be unmistakably empty. This trick is very easy to do and it resets in an instant!

Cost
£10.00

Difficulty
(1=easy to do, 2=No sleights, but not so easy, 3=Some sleights used,
4=Advanced sleights used, 5=Suitable for experienced magicians only)

Review
Have been buying a lot of wallets lately & this one don't impress too much either. With the wallet comes the above easy little effect which you can really do with any switcher device.
One aspect of the trick annoys as you can't show the card sliding in, just show its back once its placed.

It's also somewhat stiff & awkward to slide the card into the compartment, over time this would probably become easier as the wallet bends but that kinda defeats the object of this wallet because much like the Frenzy wallet & the wowallet I don't think certain secrets on this wallet are as invisible as they should be.

And thats what lets it down for me.

I'm reviewing this for the wallet not the effect.

Overall
3/10
