Review

I'm sorry but I can't find the actual name of this effect anywhere. I bought mine from Davenports. This effect is so good - and so underpriced - that it's worth putting up a review.

You get a sheet of coloured rubber about the size of a CD case. Using any glass (can be borrowed) you wrap the rubber sheet over the top and hold it in place with a rubber band. On top of the rubber you have 2 coins (2p and 10p) which can be borrowed - no switches or anything tricky required. A spec chooses a coin and you pick it up by the corner. Slowly and deliberately you proceed to push the coin through the rubber under it drops down into the glass. You are now clean and the glass (with rubber on top and coin inside) can be examined by the spec until his heart's content.

Overall

Excellent and mindblowing. The coin visually melts through the rubber. Spectators will swear that the rubber melts and reseals itself - how could it? The force of the stretched rubber is pulling outwards! Realising this simple fact of physics the spec is left with no answers. Sleight of hand? You can hold the specs wrist and use his hand to push the coin through the rubber.

It's called pena coin and it's been reviewed before here

It's always good though, to get other people's opinions and I've gotta say that I agree with most of the comments. This really is a nice trick - fully examinable and nice and cheap :? The only downside is the original set-up - I've gone through countless gozinta sheets (or whatever they're called!!) trying to set this up

QUESTION:
If we can sue McDonalds for making us fat and cigarette companies for giving us cancer; why can't we sue Smirnoff for all the ugly gits we've sh*gged ??

Its actually called "DENTAL DAM TRICK (aka DAMN DECEPTION)". Created by Lubor Fiedler

Or as marketed "Coin through Rubber."

pena-coin is a knock off. just fyi. and it is a decent effect, but it isnt right for every show, just something about bringing and using your own "sheet". :?

I found that whenever I have performed this trick for people I have got great reactions especially when you hand them the glass immediately after the penetration and just let them examine it thoroughly. No one has ever quizzed me about it being set up already or indeed figured out how it is done.
An cheap excellent effect especially for beginners as the ease of it ensures one can concentrate on performance.

You get set it up in front of them. Secretly do the the necessary under the table (sounds rude) and then pick up the glass with the rubber sheet in your hand. Look in your pockets for a rubber band. As you are putting the band on, act like it is more tricky than it is: "the rubber sheet usually flies of at this point!" you say. When you have the rubber stretched over the glass and held in place put the glass on the table all set up. No-one will ask any questions - there is an obvious question but no-one will ask it.
