Casino Coins by Eddie Gibson

Postby Lord Freddie » Nov 22nd, '06, 14:36

The Effect
A lovely little quick routine that looks like sleight of hand. Two casino chips are shown and turned over as they are passed from hand to hand to show two different colours. A short story is told about being down to your last two chips in a gambling casino, having lost all available cash. In two minds, not knowing whether to play the last chips or cash them in and get a cab home, first one chip CHANGES TO A COPPER COIN before the second chip CHANGES TO A SILVER COIN.

Visual magic right under the spectators nose

Review
I have had this for years and dug it out again recently. If you use a convincing bit of patter this effect gets an astonished reaction as the change is so quick and is literally before the spectators eyes.
It's one of those tricks which elicits the 'do that again?' response, which as we all know means 'I cannot believe my eyes!'
As a simple quickie, this is effective, visual, easy to perform and reset and perfect for table hopping.
For those fond of close up coin effects, this is one worth adding to your arsenal.
The coins themselves are not examinable but you can show both sides quite freely. As with all Eddie Gibson products, these are just as well made and you can concentrate on the patter and storyline much more as the tricks takes very little skill.
The handling of the chips, prior to the change, needs to be in a certain way but I have performed this many times for a wide range of people and nobody has worked out the secret, they just think my sleight of hand is far better than it actually is!

Overall
9/10
