The Secret Methods of Dr B

Description:

This is an e-book ready for download for $19.95 and contains two books in one: (1) The Dr B Billet Switch and A Pseudo Psychic reading technique.

There have been a few posts on billet work here on TM, and Dr B offers a simple and straightforward method for switching a billet made from a standard 3 x 5 index card. The switch occurs early on in the presentation and is an incidental moment to an overall 'reading' situation.

The pseudo-psychic reading technique is based on Richard Webster's Psychometry A to Z, but is based on a different mnemonic system and simplified for easier memorisation.

The e-book concludes with a small section on bringing the two ideas together and a few suggestions for using the techniques in a 'psychic fayre' setting.

Review:

The two techniques are indeed useful. The switch is nicely described and has many photographs showing the phases and angles of the switch. The psychometry technique would take some time to master comfortably, but with time it will serve a variety of purposes for anyone interested in doing readings. It could also be combined with other reading systems based on other oracles (e.g. Runes, Numerology, Tarot, I Ching, etc).

While the techniques included here are indeed useful and well explained, slightly more care and attention to spelling and presentation would have improved this e-book. Since this is now a common medium for magic manuals, the standard that is expected from our community has gone up considerably. There are different fonts, odd spacings, and quite a few spelling mistakes (on the website as well).

If you only want switch techniques, IMHO the value for money is found in Bresler's Switchcraft, but if you want a good switch technique AND a method for doing readings, then this e-book may well be for you.

Thanks for the review! I recently came across this ebook and was pondering ordering it on the spot. However, after reading this I don't think it's quite what I'm looking for, but certainly seems interesting.

Thanks again for the review.

I would go for Switchcraft.

Switchcraft is currently on my list of items to buy, and I'm still debating whether or not to add this to it. The 'Pseudo Psychic' routine sounds interesting.

Thanks again for the review.
