Just for a change, I'll respond sensibly - ish. There are several (thousand!) smileys which could be very useful but they would need to be imported into the phpBB database by the forum owner. I'll add it to the wishlist of forum enhacements and see what can be done - it may take a while though.

I have a great slap emoticon for msn but I can't find the actual file to upload it.
Maybe this is better :

you can upload any emoticon to a free image host (f.ex Imageshack) and then use it like this to embed it to the message :
