STUCK - by Greg Rostami

As I can't see this reviewed here yet...here goes my first full review:

The Effect:
A borrowed coin somehow passes thru the performers hand. Both hands are shown as empty during the routine.

Cost:
$9.95 @ http://www.rostamimagic.com/stuck/

Difficulty:
(1=Beginner/self-working - 5=Very Advanced)

2/3 - Easy to pull off, but will need practice to tune.

Review:
Most 'coin thru hand' routines require some pretty tricky sleights and although Bobo's essential book teaches everything for a great routine, Greg's method for this classic trick is so simple and so visual.

From the start of the video, Greg comes across as a great teacher and full of enthusiasm for his own routine. This I like! So many teaching videos are attempted by bland performers who quite honestly, seem as if they are being forced into the production. Greg shows the first routine and then gets straight into the explanation. He shows the crucial moves from a behind the shoulder angle, which really helps you nail exactly what he is doing. He goes over and over the moves, so there is nothing that is rushed.

At exactly the moment that I was clear on the first routine, he moves onto an alternative reveal of the coin on the other side of the hand....again, this is expertly explained and nothing is rushed. From here he explains more options for the reveal and tips for the performance to make this effect even more jaw-dropping.

Greg explains that the acting and body language needed for the routines is crucial and this is what stands his routines out from others. The acting really makes this trick. I have experimented with and without the facial expressions and acting and I can assure all that I have had people standing with their mouths open after adding the right body language.

Overall:
At the current US $ to UK £ exchange rate, you would have to be mad not to get this from Greg and add it to your arsenal. For just over a fiver, you will get a 40 minute video that is shot professionaly and is of excellent quality, both visual and audio is very good.

To be totally honest, I have replayed and replayed, but I cannot find fault in the whole thing. Even if you do not normally touch coin magic, for this price you just have to have it! :D

....and Greg, if you read this, you really need to bump up your price! This video is worth more in my honest opinion.

WOW psymetry . . .

I can't thank you enough for such a great review. Also, thank you for mentioning the part about acting and facial expressions. I think that’s one of the most important factors about magicians as ENTERTAINERS.

You mentioned something about raising the price of STUCK! I’ve given that a lot of thought lately, but to be honest with you, there is SO much piracy in the magic community, that I feel a more affordable price point might stop some of that piracy. But I will consider it for my next release.

Cheers,
Greg Rostami

P.S. If you think STUCK! is cool, I can’t wait to show you what’s next:

. . . It’s something you’ve never seen before
. . . It’s with a coin
. . . It’s SO AMAZING that it borders on the SPIRITUAL!
. . . and It’s called VINDI.

Stay tunned . . .

You are welcome mate. Credit where credit is due and all that.

Good point about the price and piracy. The kids on youtube will not have the excuse of not being able to afford it anymore at the price you are selling it...But on the other hand, you need to make a living too.

I can't thank you enough for such a great review

Erm, perhaps a sneaky peak preview of your next release?
