Please don't look at this as £70 for a wallet. You are not Buying a wallet, you are buying a very stong routine , which happens to involve a wallet. That is like saying £1500 for a chair is outrageous (until you are shown it is a Martinka chair and "shell") it is not what it it but what response and effect it achieves.

The work Marc has put into the clean and simple revelation of the named card is worth the cost of the effect alone. he has done all the hard work and to be honest there are literally dozens of "wallets" out their costing way more but the effects they facilitate come no where near.

I didn't read it on the site, I just watched the video. It's impossible discuss that video in any detail without exposing the method.

OK I'll have my 10p worth.

After reading this review on thursday I ordered the effect from world magic, and it arrived saturday morning. As soon as you open the box you can see that there is a HELL of a lot of work gone into this effect, the thinking behind it is outstanding. You also receive a DVD of Mark explaining the trick etc, and like someone posted above you're not just spending £70 on the effect but also the thinking behind it, and the work that has gone in to develop it!

I agree if magic is your hobby then it may seem expensive, but this one effect could be your reputation maker. I've already performed it to friends and family, as practice, and the reactions you get are out of this world.

In a nutshell, if you've got £70 spare get it, you won't be disappointed. If you haven't got £70, save up, it may be the cost of 3 tricks but there are actually more than 3 routines you can do with this trick.

And the day copyright or anyone else invents a trick where a spectator can think of any card, without a force, and only that card is in their wallet and everything is examinable at the end I will be first in line to buy it. In the meantime, this one will do for me!

How about someone thinks of a card, I hand my wallet to a spectator and they get to take the card out themselves? Everthing used is handled by the specs

Sounds extremely interesting. Is it something you have created or is it still a figment of imagination?

 Even if I did invent such a wallet, why would you want to buy it when you have Bang On?

I was given a look at this and it's good. It can be easily used with playing cards but the original design is for another (and much better IMHO) effect. You can have a ladies version too which will be a bonus for female magicians considering that most of these wallets are for men.

OK copyright and s.lea, tell us more!
What is it called? Where can it be bought? How much?
You're talking like oracle... if this exists tell us all about it.
Perhaps it's best to create a new review about it.
But don't keep on talking under a rose...

What's the expected life of this product. I have no idea on the method, so:

Will it last forever (like a normal wallet would)
Or will it deteriorate with use (like a normal envelope and card would)

And if bits do deteriorate, can they be replaced easy (like an envelope or card)

Good point, and something I've been thinking or as well over the past couple of days.

The wallet will last as long as you'd expect a leather wallet to, ie if looked after, for years. As will the cards which are only ever handled for a few seconds at the 'reveal'.

The envelope, however,is made of cardboard, and as such these will have a limited shelf life, as it's handled, opened, closed etc each time you perform the effect.

I'm sure this is something Marc will consider, as no doubt with him using it so ofter he'll have this exact problem.

It is something that I've released privately for review. Originally it was supposed to be released as part of a collection of other effects. I currently have several options as to how to release the effect.

One option and obstacle is getting online magic stores interested in reviewing new effects. I've been waiting for some people to get back to me since before Christmas, others don't even reply. Things take time, I suppose.

I am currently putting together a video of the wallet in action. When that is completed I will post it on my site.

Well, if it's any consolation, I replied to your message, and never got a response! Except, that is, for a bounce-back.

I've just re-sent the reply.

This is all sounding very interesting. I'm intrigued. Although it's maybe a bit pricey for an AH to invest in.

Think I'll just roll with a really cheap version of it at the moment though. Where I have one card in my wallet (say the 7 of hearts) and an ID in my other pocket. It's got to work at least 1 in 52 times, if not 'll just pull out the ID.

Many moons ago, I had an idea which involved me having two envelopes, on in each inside breast pocket. In each envelope was a single card.

There was a 1 in 26 chance of someone guessing one of them, so when I asked 'Think of a card, any card' I could possibly have a mini miracle on my hands.

In one envelope I had the ace of spades, the other had the queen of diamonds.

And out of about 30 or 40 tries, nobody ever guessed it.

I can never ge those links to work.... When I click it just takes me to another address under talkmagic.co.uk with gibberish in the URL.

Copy and paste is ok, but it looks like this forum is trying to rewrite any links elsewhere.
