Review

What they say!!
BRAND NEW!
Those cunning chemists in Pilot's ink labs have come up with a new twist on the perennial search for an effective erasable pen. The ink laid down by the Frixion rollerball disappears under friction! The end of the pen has a hard plastic eraser, which when rubbed over the writing causes the colour to disappear from the ink. You can then write over it again with the same pen.

How does it work? Metamocolor technology! 'Metamocolor' is a word entirely made up by Pilot marketing people, but basically it's a type of thermo-reactive ink. The heat generated by the friction causes the ink to become translucent (at 65°C fact-hounds!). Stick it in the freezer (-20°C) and your scribblings will re-appear - albeit slightly faded. Ideal for secret messages and a lot easier than that old lemon juice and candle flames malarkey.

Available in Black Blue Red Green Light Blue and Purple ink! :!:

I AM NOT wanting to write a stationary review here BUT....... This pen has a ton of possibilities. Re-read the second paragraph from the website and then let your imagination run riot.

The ink from this pen will basically vanish when it comes into contact with heat - direct or convected. If, for example, you were to use a regular pen of the same colour and write a prediction (card or other) on a slip of paper and then scribble loads of lines over it. This can then be passed to an unsuspecting office spec and 'placed under their coffee for security!! Mysteriously your force or other chosen revelation will appear.

Alternatively - imagine giving a blank piece of paper/card (ideal for chef magicians) and 're-creating' Blaines frozen in ice type effect where a revelation appears from NO WHERE!!

The pen is not suspect as it is a straightforward rollerball (with a ton of disclaimers about not using it for legal docs/cheques etc..) and at a couple of quid - you cannot go wrong!! The writing vanishes with a lighter flame or heat from a coffee/radiator etc....

Overall

I would say - 8/10 because it is cheap, fun and has a buch of possibilities.
