Well I must say, the new G2 Wizard PK Ring is the Bee’s middle leg joints! Each generation simply gets better!

OK, we all know what these are and what they do, this time we have been treated to a far more “normal” looking ring shape and as a result of that shape…a more powerful ring to boot. It might be just me or a trick of the light but the silver finish on mine seems a little bit shinier as well.

Once again you get some handling precautions and a couple of basic routines with the ring and that’s great, the real value is in the increased innocent look of this modern classic, magic and mentalism utility. Personally I will NEVER be without one, or two…or three! For those of you who are married and get the gold version of the G2, I warn you, you might well want to sleep with one eye open if you are caught wearing the PK ring on a night out rather than your wedding band. The temptation to do it will be intense…the wrath you suffer could be far more intense!

Is there a way to subtly reverse the polarity of these rings mid-effect without taking it off, turning it round and putting it back on again?

I shouldn't think so...they are what they are.

Maybe a removable finger? Or a finger with a swivel joint in the middle knuckle? Maybe...

Form a fist so the at the top of your fingers are face down?

Is this version made of different metals?
The original puffed up my fingers like buggery.

The Silver finish on the new Wizard PK Rings are of a different coating, hence the shinier look.

I think, like regular jewelry, these rings will cause different reactions on different people.

I actually had a titanium wedding ring made, as I am allergic to white gold—which would have been my first choice.

There are 3 metals used I think, aside from the neo mix... the neo mix is porous-looking at first, and very susceptible to moisture, so it's flashed with nickel or zinc to waterproof it, and then coated again, and finally the colour added—for example.

The bottom line is, if you suffer from metal allergies, then you will have problems with long-term use of these rings.

So far as I know, the new G2 is made using the same processes as the originals, so if they caused you trouble, so will these I'm afraid.

Would love one I could wear all the time - but I've had two versions now and both have severely rusted on the inside edge.
I must ooze acid sweat or something.

A warning, if you're going to use one of these for practicing your De'Ring or whatever type moves, do it over a soft surface like a bed. Do not flick em around over a tiled floor or you'll do what I've done in the last eight days: go through three of the buggers. I've decided not to get another until I'm good enough at De'Ring to not chuck 15 quids worth of brittle metal at the floor every 10 minutes.

Other than that they're great, innocent looking and quite strong.

Well one broke instantly as soon as I dropped it from waist height, I got that replaced for free.

The next lasted a good six days and was doing ok as I'd got the hang of De'Ring, then I went out on the lash. Myself and a chum went through a pk ring and 10 loops each, an expensive evening and a handy reminder to stop showing off your latest unpracticed material when you're blotto.

The final straw came when I picked one up on Monday and broke it that night, again from a fairly innocuous bash. That's it for me for now, I'll practice with a normal malleable ring I think.

I know exactly what you mean all to well mate. It can be an expensive hobby, showing off, and we all do it.

Just sucks that they don't make a size 8.
