Trio Cigarette

Trick: Trio Cigarette

Manufacturer: Tenyo

Price: £7.50 from here http://www.elpees-entertainments.co.uk/tenyo.html

Effect:
This is three tricks in one that can follow each other.
First, you produce a cigarette from thin air, then show the audience a playing card and with a wave of your hand it transforms into a box of matches which you use to light the cigarette.
Finally, you place the lit cigarette into your fist and it vanishes!

Review:

This is my first review here and I did a search to see if this item has already been featured and it appears it hasn't.
I have had this set for years and have always found it useful, well two of the three gimmicks.
The method for producing a cigarette is very effective and has impressed many, but you really do need to watch your angles. For ease of use and the effect it produces I rate this an 8/10
The effect to turn the playing card into a box of matches has impressed a few people but my only criticism of this is that the card itself is short and stubby and doesn't look like a normal playing card and the matches are not designed to look like a genuine box but more like a child's crayon box. If it looked like a packet of Swan, for instance, the effect would be far more impressive. Perform this bit very quickly!
I rate this 3/10

The final effect, the vanishing of the cigarette is excellent and is simple to perform and is always met with an astonished reaction, particularly as the cigarette is lit. You could vanish an unlit one if you chose to, but this is far more impressive.

Overall: 8/10
Good value for money and two out of three effects you will always find a use for, particularly the vanish which can be used in any situation. I have performed this really close-up and the spectators had no idea whatsover how it was done. My set cost me a bit more than this but the price quoted in the link I have provided above is a bargain!

The cig pull is just what you need. Had mine from this set for years and it's never let me down, in fact I always have it on me as it's a great impromptu effect.
The other two items, one is good, the other isn't but it's worth it for the pull. I bought mine in Davenports, but that was some time ago.

It's safe. You could burn yourself if you were particularly clumsy, but I have never been burnt using it. In fact, I did it today spontaneously to someone and they just sat in a trance with their eyes wide open!

When someone else came in the room and asked what I had done to him (thinking it was hypnosis or something), he tried to blurt out what had happened and ended up just shaking his head, stunned! Lovely!

The fact that it's lit is always more impressive, particularly when no smoke appears from your person. If you get it (and I recommend you do, you'll like it and find it easy to use) I will PM you with a simple but very effective handling I use to create maximum effect.

Hi again.

Do u think i can buy this somewhere in London? Or do you otherwise know any good magic shop in town? I'll be there from the 5th to the 9th of October.

Thanks! Cheers!

Google for International Magic and Davenports - both in London.

Cheers. It's worth getting and quite cheap now, I believe.

greetings,

I'm on the other side of the pond and would love an effect like this! But I can't find anything about it even when I google it. Are there other names for this vanishing/appearing cigarette method that I could look into... I don't really need the appearing matchbook or anything... I would rather light it using "flare" . but disappearing a lit cigarette, THATs cool!!!

thanks in advance :)

Try searching for 'cigarette pull'. The set is made by Tenyo but you can buy cig pulls on their own.
A very useful device which is all the more impressive when performed using a cigarette. Sadly, due this country's draconian laws in the aftermath of the Blairite Junta this can only be performed outdoors.
