Hi Everybody,

My name's Paul, I'm 27 and from Hertfordshire. I got back into magic a couple of years ago as a hobby and can't get enough of it!!

I'm off to the Blackpool Convention in a couple of weeks time, can't wait.

Don't know if this is the right place to ask, but bought NFW recently and have trouble presenting the four jokers (face up) convincingly at the beginning. I read elsewhere on the forum about an Orion Count. Is there anywhere I can get more information on this, as I'm not familiar with this sleight?

hi paul i think you are refering to an emsley count, typr this into the search box next to the members list at the top of the page and you should get some luck.

enjoy your stay not everyone is mad here just thoughs of us that have too much talent :shock: .

Age and Status in your Profile
To help other members form a more visual picture, it would be nice to include your age and 'magic status' as a small signoff in your profile.

We're standardising this to an additional bit of info in the Location panel in your profile... and the format is

(??A : ??S) where as the ??A = your age, and the ??S = your status, chosen from the list below...

EN = Eager Newbie
AH = Amateur Hobbyist
SH = Skilled Hobbyist
WP = Working Professional
CP = Career Professional

So, for example - your Location could be

"Kent, UK, (30:WP)", meaning you're a 30 year old working pro...

This is NOT obligatory, but may help during conversation!

Visting Professional Magicians - it would be much appreciated if you could please make yourselves known to one of the Moderators!

The Orion Count is basically just a fancy way of doing a Flushtration count but it is far more convincing. It can be found on the McLintock Twist video by Reed McLintock.

Thanks for the tip!

Flushtration count sounds like it would work better than the "modified Hamman count" that they suggest in the instructions. I'll try to get hold of a copy of the video you suggested as well, thanks again!
