Harry Lorayne Classic

Postby El Enielator » Feb 24th, '05, 05:43

Both of the previously released Harry Lorayne videos (Stars Of Magic and Magic Video #2) are combined on this special DVD that features some of Lorayne's favorite routines.

Routines performed and explained from Stars of Magic:
Amazing Revelation Display, Invisible Pass Routine, Amazing Prediction, Rip-Storation, Impromptu Linking Card Routine, Snap!, Lorayne Spread Control, Ultra Move and HaLo Cut.

Great DVD, Harry Lorayne is a genius. I wish I could own apocolypse set, but not yet.

10 out of 10 (Purchased almost anywhere) I got mine at Hollywood Magic
The Sting is definitley a great effect, nice revelation.
Halo cut is amazing and there is a great ace location trick with it

Routines performed and explained from Magic Video #2:
Together At Last, Monte Monte Plus, Silknot, Impossible 2-Card Location, The Ribbon-Spread Palm, King's Highway, Spread Pass Delay, Salt-less, Double Pancake Revelation, Han Ping Chien Finesse, Easy Indicator and The Top-Card Cover Pass, The Sting, The Olram Subtlety, The Status Quo Shuffle, The Charlier Shuffle, No Get-Ready DL from Four Cards, The Universal Reversal, Para-Psychology, Secret Subtraction Move, Red/Black Shuffle, 4-Ace Location, To Catch an Ace #5, The Flip-Up DL, The HaLo Cut, Slip Cut to Table, and Double-Lift Finesse.

All DVDs contain multi-region encoding and can be played worldwide. Produced by L&L Publishing. Running time: Approximately 125 minutes. Original release date: VHS: 1987 and 1990, DVD: May 2002.

Is the "Impromptu Linking Card Routine" that you speak of the one performed on the Stars of magic show with the princess of Monaco (Princess Stephanie)?

I really dont know,
It is a nice effect, but you definatley need great patter, and it is the easiest thing in the world.
You dont have to hide anything (no extra tares nothing) but if you left it with a spectator they could probably repeat it, just cause it is simple

I think it may be the same one I know.....basic effect.....magi takes three regular cards in plane view, and folds them over length wise. The middle is torn out, and the three "ring shaped" cards link, unlink, etc....at the end, a card is visible torn, yet when done all three rings are full.....does that sound right?

No may be a little similar

Step by step

1)one card is split in half and the centers are torn out from each of these.

2) spectator examines them checking if there are any breaks already in them

3)spectator returns them, magician hits them together a few times and when he wants he magically links them

4) To unlink them magician must tear the end of it, while the specator holds the linked cards

5) Spectator can examine them and will find that there were no extra tears or any funny buisness

I don't mean to bump an old thread, but the effect moodini described is a Paul Harris effect called "Immaculate Connection".

Also, is there a review out for Harry Lorayne's Apocolypse?

Currently Reading "House of Mystery" (Abbott, Teller), Tarbell, Everything I can on busking
