What they say: Two paper bags are shown, one red & one white. There is a 2 foot red rope in red bag and a 2 foot white rope in the white bag. Snap your fingers and the ropes change places! (or do they?) Repeat the trick again this time it REALLY happens! the ropes do change places but the audience think that they know how it is done, because the bags were NEVER shown empty at the start! The spectators think you have an extra length of rope in each bag - they are correct! BUT then you reach into the bags and bring out two 24 inch, red and white STRIPED ropes, leaving the bags completely empty & can be examined if you wish!

This is a "does what it says on the tin" item. You start with the trick set up and the beauty is that if you fumble about in the bags when you are showing the ropes it all adds to the misdirection. It all looks too easy to the spectator, they are convinced that you have two pieces of rope in each bag. At the end you hand over the bags to the spectators and they can see clearly that apart from the additional striped length you only pull one piece of rope out of each bag. Let them play with the bags, let them look for gimmicks in them, there aren't any. This is beuatifully clean.

Mike advertises this on his site under childrens magic, and there is no doubt that it is great for kids, plenty of scope for them to shout out and tell you how you did it, but I find it plays well with adults as well, especially the smart ones who are watching you like a hawk to catch you out. This looks so obvious that they will have a field day - until the kick at the end.

Great piece of visual magic that is easy to do but which presentation can really build up.

Value for money 9.5/10 (I have to keep a perfect 10 for something!)

I am looking to get a couple of things for kids shows and this sounds ideal.
just a couple nof questions, how tough are the paper bags, i mean would kids rip easily them or would they get worn out quickly. can the bags be replaced easily?

What you get are two toughish heavy duty paper gift style carrier bags with cord handles. As such they will tear if roughly handled. However, the bags are irrelevant and are just a nice item supplied with the trick. They can be replaced with any two bags. You could use brown paper bags, you could even use sainsburys carrier bags, the bags don't matter.

If you do the trick often enough the bags will of course wear but as I say are totally replaceable.

I saw Mike demo these just after he had got them in stock and as many of you know, I do like my ropes

I was very tempted by these but had already spent too much on other things so they went on the waiting list.

This is a very nice effect and one that would suit an audience of adults or children.
