I have been asked to do charity shows before and I always ask "What's in it for me?".
Most charity workers like doing it because it makes them feel important.
Few people are truly altruistic.

By the way, I do have my own charity. It's the Simian Equality League.
Chimps are close to us in DNA and should get the vote, be able to marry and are entitled to jobs. People claim employing one is a silly idea as they can't speak, but if you encounter the amount of people in employment in Bekrshire who can't speak a work of English then you'll agree that our PG Tipps swilling friends are worthy of menial work as much as anyone else is. Hail the ape!

I have always been against charity shows because not only do they bring in no money you tend to be treated like dirt.

However lately I have been undergoing a change of mind. It has ocurred to me that they may actually be a very good place to try out untested material.

I suppose there is also a faint chance of getting a spin off booking with real money involved but I doubt it.

I think I might insist on a testimonial letter from them though.

But it's not always about doing it for the money, if you can do a show to raise some money for people who aren't as lucky or well off as us then that's got to be a good thing.

You are so right it's not always about doing it for the money.

Its only when your very ill like my self you start to release whats inpatient in life and money is not one of them. We take it for granted but life frightening illness can happen to any one of us .I did never think I would get a life threatening illness called lupus. its a very frightening diseases Lupus can tackle any organ at any time. Its something that most should be aware of.

to do something nice for someone that is ill Weaver its raising money or just showing sporting for them is a very good thing to do and very rewarding.

I still think it would be a good idea to do something for Cancer awareness day even if its something like changing our Avatar to Cancer pink ribbons for a day to show sporting to them that has Cancer.

Strangely enough I attend a Lupus clinic in Toronto but not for Lupus. I have severe psoriasis and a little psoriatic arthritis which is an inflammatory disease just like Lupus. However your disease is much more serious and I know that from the literature I read in the waiting room.

I do hope you make progress in your recovery and I wish you well.
