Whats mine is mine

whats mine is mine (by Paul Richards)

effect: the spectator displays a packet of 8 cards, the specator points to one which is put on the table face down in front of the spectator in plain view. The magician then states that the remaining cards "are mine" as he turns them over every card has MINE written across the face. after going throught his cards the spectators card that has remained in full view is turned over and written on its face is YOURS in red. this can be reapeated and the spectator will magically always pick the YOURS CARD.

Cost: £8 (davenports)

Difficulty: 1

Review: i bought this trick as i could not see any switches or funny moves whatsoever and i saw it performed 3 times. i bought it because ihad to know how its done. it is SO easy its silly. I rate this trick highly because of the reaction you get for next to no effort at all. I think the trick is effective mainly because the cards just have mine or yours written on them, this is a change for the spectator and i regularly use it as a little 'hey do you wanna see something odd' type effect at the tabe after a few tricks or in college. If you are just starting card magic then this is a definate choice that you should consider.

P.S. if anyone knows of a good way of restoring the secret in this effect please could they PM me.

cheers

Yes this trick is great, i bought it from davenports when i purchased NFW and that was quite weird as they both use the same kind of "principle".
I tried to restore the gimmick but ended up taking the ink off aswell.
Does anyone now where i can get replacement cards? I guess I could buy a deck of blank cards and use a sharpie or something. I was thinking there might even be a way of using a thumbwriter gimmick to mark up there name or a personal detail about them during the begining of your routine?

ne way that seems like too much to think about now, especially as I'm hungry-off to get food now. :D

00oooooo.....Il just give it an "out of ten" rating:

8/10

the reason it is low is because its a very quick trick. The gimmick is pretty much undetectable, I've given this card to people and they havn't released anything special....perhaps they are a bit "thick"
