Anyone have a video of them performing this effect? The only one I can find is with Joe Russell. And from that video, I think it's pretty obvious how it's done. I'm not sure if it's just his performance or what, but it surely doesn't seem like it's worth more than 20 bucks. And I could be totally wrong. I would just like to see a performance with some different handling so I can decide yay or nay.

Well (and sorry if this gives too much away) but it seems like you'd be paying upwards of 100 dollars for just a knife and a secret, which doesn't seem worth it to me.

All over YouTube. Just type in "Ladybug Magic"

worth is all in the eye of the beholder.

It cost me £1.16 to learn how to do the proffesor's nightmare rope trick, and I would have (after experiencing the reactions with my storyline) easily paid plus of £50

I paid however much for The E Loops dvds, and would have thought it not even worth the £1.16 I paid for the rope effect.

This, my friend, for me (in my eyes) was worth it

Well after watching the video i felt no way is it worth the price, unless it was a bad performance, but then i watched another video by sommebody else and thought exactly the same.

Obviously i don't own the trick so im in place to judge, but i would like to see somebody from bunny do a (better) vid.........................

I performed this to a group of people on the bus, some teens, some fogies and some other random inbetweens.

some of the best reactions I have ever had.. a living breathing ladybird, crawling on my finger!!

Worth? Worth? Just a knife?

Mate.. gimmicks are a means to an end.. secrets are what you pay for..

worth? now thats an entrely different question..ask yourself..

Would you ever perform it? I will.
Are you willing to put the effort in? I am.
How many good performances get you your money's worth? I say 4.
How many variations ofthe effect can be accomplished? at least 5.

The knife isnt part ofthe reason I bought it. I bought it for the reactions I can get with it.

I have bought electric touch ( a gimmick worth £120 ) that allows you to spark people. Thats twice as much for something that, quite frankly, isnt even an effect. An I think ET is worth it.

Worth is in the eye of the beholder, I dont understand what you dont think is worth £70 !!??

btw.. I only paid £37 for mine Wink

Maybe you could present it in a better way to us then?

Not having a go, just really want this to work, and from what i've seen so far looks baaaaaaaaaaaaad.

As it stands in the video i've seen:

Guy takes a knife

Guy pricks a knife into his finger(and thumb) that is held in a funny way

A blob of something is shown rather to briefly for my liking

Guy pushes his other finger down and a ladybird appears

I just want this sooooooooo to work how its described but from the video it just looks awful Sad

Guys - please bear in mind that, although the vid presents the effect as it should, the spectators will be one helluva lot closer than the camera is in that demo! That's the way it's intended to be played.

In all fairness, I'm really glad the Team behind this released a VidDem like this, as it's going to stop quite a few folks buying it Twisted Evil

However....being fair to the effect, it plays EXACTLY as described if you're prepared to put the effort into the presentation - and that's the key; this may be a mini-miracle, but it sure ISN'T one of those brainless self-workers Rolling Eyes

If you're remotely interested in this effect, I'd suggest you IGNORE the YouPoo stuff, and go back and READ the decription of the effect; visualise what happens in your head....THIS is the effect that's achievable with Ladybug.

And what's all the griping about paying loads for a 'crappy pen-knife'? Shocked

FORGET the blummin' props....FORGET the secret too; those are only a tiny part of what Magic's about - shouldn't really have to remind anybody here, but...psst!....it's the EFFECT you pay for Mad

Does Ladybug deliver a strong effect?

In my opinion, YES!

I think there's three members here on TM who own Ladybug - go read our reviews...ask us the relevant questions (within reason Wink ), and quit with the, "It's rubbish" generalisations about an effect you've never even performed Rolling Eyes

Rob

I can understand that, but it's not entirely true. When people chose to purchase a magic trick, they don't base their selection solely on the effect. The method and gimmick (if there even is one) play a big part too. For instance, the effect for the Balducci is 'you levitate'. But you do it in such a way that looks cheesy and impractical (in my opinion). The effect for Ladybug is 'you turn a drop of blood into a living organism' but, too me, it just doesn't look right. So while the effect sounds tremendous, the performance just lacks for me. And I know it's up to me to create my own patter and presentation, there's just not much you can do with this trick. It's too solid.

too solid??

Listen.. presentation is the key... plant those pyschological subtleties in your spectators head. If you tell them its blood then to them its blood.

I should know I have the effect. When I do this, you should hear the Uuugggh and ' UUrrrr your bleeding ' comments I get.. because you plant the suggestion in their head. So they believe it. After watching the accompanying DVD... you see what we mean.. You coax the blood out, little by little. And it looks REAL.. The spec are VERY close and they all move back.. then they come close.. and you change the blood into a ladybird, and they all move back as its moving, then they realise what is going on.

The effect is the biggest factor, if you dont like the sound if it, dont buy it, it you like the effect AS IT READS ON PAPER... buy this an present in a way that you are comfortable with.

You tube demos are p-poor!! The demo for the dvd isnt that good either.. Im assuming it was done on purpose to detract people from buying it.. but Oh boy.. Im glad I did.. If you dont buy it great.. Im one of a priveledged few!! Twisted Evil
