Animated Shoelace/Self-Tying Shoelace

Postby timlic » Fri Nov 17, 2006 11:26 am

There's already been a post about the Self-Tying Shoelace by Jay Noblezada, so I won't go through the effect, etc again.

I purchased the same effect, but a different type called "Animated Shoelace" by Jeremy Montcrief. I think it's a different technique from Jay's version, but I must say, I wasn't that impressed.

I'm not going to give anything away, but personally, I found the instructions confusing and the materials not strong enough. To be fair, it looked good before I actually 'hooked it up', but then when practising, I had problem after problem.

I've just ordered Jay's version as it has some good reviews, but I'm a little dubious. Has anyone else tried Jeremy's version and found similar problems or am I just being a fool...

*Be nice

As this isn't a review as such, I imagine you'll get better responses if its in Support and tips, or even Miscellaneuous
You wont find much better anywhere and it's nothing - a rigmarole with a few bits of paper and lots of spiel. That is Mentalism

Both suggestions sound good to me. Perhaps Support and Tips might be better as it could be awkward to say too much without exposing things or being over-critical?

I don't think you need to doubt Jay's version, it works pretty well. No complaints. Theres a really short simple reset, but thats to be expected.

The only thing is rarely a person could guess part of the method, but a good magician should be able to handle that
