They say: You show a pack of cards to the audience, and ask one of them to select and sign any card. You hold the card between your fingertips, and the card begins to slowly bend! The card is under your complete control and you don't move your hand or your fingers! You then cause the card to straighten up and can hand it out to be examined by a spectator, who confirms it is the same card with their signature.

This was the first trick I ever bought and im reviewing it to warn anyone who has even thought about buying it! This is one of those tricks that sounds awesome... but it's not! the spectator has to directly in front of you and they will almost certainly want to see the back of the card. I used it once, threw it away and havent touched it since. If your looking for a way to bend a card then i would recommend mindbender wich you can do impromtu with any card...

Ok... it's "the first trick you ever bought" which means that you're not very experienced in these things, nor "versed" enough as a performer to recognize potential in something.

I have had this effect for many years and use it frequently when doing table hopping... it goes over exceptionally well WHEN YOU KNOW HOW TO HANDLE AND PRESENT IT.

My suggestion is that you simply set it aside for a while until you get a bit more experience under your belt and start seeing ways of exploiting the idea and using it to your advantage. That's what I do with effects I'm disappointed with and surprisingly, I do end up finding solutions if I just give it some time.

Yes it was the first trick I bought.. but after two years I still cant find any use for it. Mindbender though gives the same effect and is (in my opinion) much more impressive.. and clean.

I'm not familiar with the MINDBENDER thing but I'm not even a card guy and I able to make the Bavli piece work well and get people to freak out over it.... I even used it for a newspaper shoot a few years ago... made the front page (of the entertainment section) in fact.
