Torched & Restored

Postby AJ82 » May 24th, '06, 14:00

Couldn't find a review on this so hope it has not already been done.

Torched and Restored - A card is selected and signed. It is then torn in to 4 pieces and the edges of these pieces are burnt with a lighter whalst attempting to weld the card back together. After the card has been seen in flames it is totally restored and no burn marks can be seen.

Price - £12.99

Difficulty - 3=Some sleights used - very minor slight, if you can even call it a slight

Review
I have had this product for about 4 hours now and got the hang of it quickly. It is basically just a slightly more flash was to do a torn and restored card. A small ammount of set up is required as with most tricks. I like the edge it gave to the trick but I don't think I will give up my old no fire version of torn and restored. The instruction leaflet is quite visual with reasonable black and white pictures. The wording is simple and well written.

Overall thoughts
Good trick for a beginer but for those of you with a wide range of tricks under your belting including a torn and restored card I would say not to worry too much about getting this one.

As my first review, I hope this is ok![/i]

Magic is real, just look around you, some of the most amazing things have no reason, no explanation but are very real.

Seriously, great review except one thing: it would be convenient to write where you can buy or look for this effect ! Keep it up!

I bought this when I was still quite the beginner with no idea how a torn and restored was done. I have never performed it properly but have been playing around with a presentation that includes using flash paper. I think it work in to quite a nice routine. This thread has reminded me to dig it out and give it a go.

One of the members of the magic club I go to did a nice torn and restored bringing the card out of a Kiwi fruit at the end. Mexssy but fun

I honestly don't think those ratings are too important. But that's just me.

Good review.

Totally workable in a stroll around situation. It is just another Torn and Restored routine with a different ending. There is some setup required away from the performance but it is failrly simple and straightforward.

I set up a number of the gimmicks some time ago but have still to perform this an anger. I goy sidetracked on to the even easier Mark Wilson routine and have stuck with that for this effect.
