Hello everybody...

I'm a long-time lurker finally showing my head above the parapet!

First of all, sorry about my extremely dull username. It looks like I have been lurking here for about 4 years, off and on, so it's about time I made myself known.

Anyway, I'm based in Kent, I'm 41 and have been dabbling, mainly with cards, for a couple of years but I now want to be a little more systematic in my approach (I nearly said serious, but I do think the whole point is for it to be fun!).

I don't know how common a thing it is, but my Local Authority (Bromley) offers an evening class in Magic and Conjuring: I did this last term and have signed up again for next term as well. The tutor is Tom Whitestone, who I think was a friend of the great Alex Elmsley. If there is any interest I could write up a review, but I know how annoying it may be to people in other parts of the country.

Finally, belated thanks to all those posters whose reviews and advice I have been benefiting from over the years!

How did you find out about it? Hmm maybe Bristol city council does one as well. Did you have to pay for it etc?

I had it recommended by a Magician at the South London Magic Society - who said Tom Whitestone was excellent

I see it's still going strong and am interested in your review Drej - A favourable one if you intended to go back for a second term. How did it go?

Thanks

Robert

I doubt that you'll get much of a response from drewj as the original post is a fair few years old but perhaps someone might know something about it.

Anyhows, welcome along to TM :D
