Ouja Card By Black Hart

Postby Stephen Ward » Mar 26th, '08, 00:23

The Effect

They Say...

"Your spectator is given your ‘International Paranormal Research Society’ membership card to write the name of some deceased person on it’s rear. You do not see the name. They then mix the card into a stack of more of your IPRS cards.

Using the mini Ouija board that is in your card case you correctly find the card with the deceased’s name written on it".

Cost

£15 only from http://www.blackhart.co.uk/page109.html

Difficulty
(1=easy to do, 2=No sleights, but not so easy, 3=Some sleights used,
4=Advanced sleights used, 5=Suitable for experienced magicians only)

0 easy as anything!

Review

Yet again we get a Real World effect that is easy to do and a good effect. I have had this for a while now and been table-hopping it. Before we begin with reviews let's look at what you get. First off when you order you supply details that you want printed on the business card. I had my name, phone, email and website. The cards are a nice white and look good when on the table. You get all the cards you need, a template by email and one in the package, you also get a plastic business card holder with a ouji board picture glued in it.

The routine is so simple and the secret is very clever. The person can keep the business card afterwards so they have your contact details. If you do not want to present a 'dead person' story then just present it as a mentalism routine. There is no real reset and you are always ready to go. You will peform this the moment you open the package (even complete beginners).

Of course such effects will not suit everyone. If you are the kind of person who loves the complex, finger-busting routines then look elsewhere. But don't let the simplicity of this put you off, i am using this a lot and it really gets good reactions.

Overall

10/10 can't fault this, good price.

Now you're scaring me!

The only thing that concerns me about this trick is that I am not a working magician, and with this effect using business cards, I'm not sure if it would be suitable for an "AH" like me. :? I do like the sound of it, though. In fact, I find myself strangely drawn to many of Black Hart's tricks.

Thats Whats good about Blackhart effects, once you buy one you end up going back.
Once whilst i was working away, i had a chance booking and ended up buying a complete act from him!
I still use some to this day!

That is spooky - I was also thinking about Black Hart bringing out a performance / possible explanation DVD. Bet it would be superb.

I have had this at the company doing the conversion for several months now and I'm still awaiting my first delivery of DVDs... :(

This is a good reminder to chase them again.

Just wanted to add my voice to this thread in that I have had the Allain Teller of Tales Video for years now and I absolutely love it and found one routine in particular very usable for my style.
And yes, come on Keith, please produce an instructional DVD with you as the star. I'm sure it'd sell like Hell. Pun intended.
