They Say

The Same Card
Performer has a spectator FREELY select a card from an ordinary deck of cards. Without looking at it, the performer tables the card face down and brings out a small leather business card wallet from which he removes his business card and a dollar bill. "On the back of my business card is a prediction. If the prediction does not match the card you selected, you win the cash!" The spectator perks up as the performer places the selected card face down inside the wallet, leaving the side of the card protruding from within the compartment. "Would you be impressed if the same card was written on the business card?" asks the performer. The spectator agrees, and the performer turns over the business card to reveal the words, "THE SAME CARD!" ... "actually," says the performer, "the real prediction is written on the back of the money. Turn it over and see for yourself." The spectator turns the bill over and the words, "Four of Clubs" is written on the bill. The performer calls attention to the selected card in the business card wallet. Taking it out slowly and dramatically, he turns it over to reveal the Four of Clubs! It's the same card indeed! This beautiful, ingenious piece of close-up mentalism comes to you with the special leather business card holder and detailed instructions. You'll have so much fun with this, you'll never put it down!

Difficulty
(1=easy to do, 2=No sleights, but not so easy, 3=Some sleights used,
4=Advanced sleights used, 5=Suitable for experienced magicians only)

1 but only because I don't give half sores

Review
Possible the easiest trick I own simple to do but so effective. The little leather wallet can be in your pocket at all times.

10/10 for a easy take anywhere trick

A have to admit that I like many of Wayne Dobson's routines and another that may interest you is his 'Teach a Card Trick' which I think you can get hold ofin his lecture notes. I may review it later on if I have time.

In the meantime, nice review

I don't have this - but as long as the wallet looks like a normal wallet (assuming that the wallet is "dodgy"), the spec will prob never suspect a thing.

I own Steve Draun's Real Man's Wallet

and Mark Mason's Mirage Wallet

.... both of which, look like genuine day-to-day wallets and should not attract much attention from your average Joe Public.

It's not a real looking wallet but I did loads at a party last night and no one thought anything about it.

It's more of a card holder.

Although this is an old thread, I got hold of this lovely little bit of business today and just had to pipe up and say it's abso-flippin-lutely BRILLIANT!!

To be fair, I've not paid much attention to Wayne Dobson's effects previously, but I do believe that's all about to change; 'The Same Card' is clean, simple and pretty darn breathtaking. It takes minimal pocket space, resets almost instantly, and can even be performed using a borrowed deck :D

Although I got mine second hand, if I were to loose it I'd have absolutely NO qualms whatsoever about shelling out just over the meagre £10 that WMS (http://www.magicshop.co.uk/WAYNE_DOBSON ... _info.html) is asking for this - it's a great quality, real leather busines card holder, and a clear, concise routine that really is going to impress the punters 8)

Now there's a stunning review from a working pro.

After having a good look round his website this week while trying to sort my egg bag problems and there's a definite emphasis on simplicity coupled with stunning with every effect. I've got a feeling I'll be making a few purchases...
