Not a seperate forum per se, but thread.

With the recent discussions on cold reading and the wonderful tarot reading spread, I've been thinking about my own practice and realisied i don't actually know anyone i can practice on that i dont know very well and could in all esscence cheat (which works just as well).
I want to develop my own "skills" on people i dont know (ie public).

So i was wondering (yes im getting to the point !).
Would anyone else be up for a practice thread? With maybe some of the nice experienced peeps on here giving gentle guidance on our efforts?

Apologies if no-one else wants to play or if this is classed as revealing, ill try it on my cat if not

Comments, suggestions and abuse below please :D

well I'd be more than happy to take part in such a thread. The only problem is the exposure bit, but I suppose any tips, comment etc can be sent via pm :D

maybe it would be better to start such a thread in either the mentalist only or one of the magicians only areas?

I guess it depends on how it goes.

It could be a nice idea though.

What exposure? You draw random cards and then read their related Barnum statements out of a book.

Fairie, if you want to practice the Tarot, you need real life subjects, not people online. It's about your individual ability to convince the customer, and that only comes from the ability to ad-lib.

I just drew The Chariot for you. Now that is interesting.

The idea was to practise the construction and wording of responses rather than try and do 'proper' readings which would, as you rightly say, be difficult. Tips and hints and suggestions rather than evaluating accuracy and so on.

Ah. I see what you mean. Apologies to everyone :) I'm adjusting my grip to the other end of the stick as we speak.
