The Thought Reader...

Postby IAIN » Aug 9th, '08, 11:35

http://www.paulbrook.co.uk/thoughtreader.htm

difficulty: 2ish..audience management, personality, clarity of explanation required...it's a 1 for mechanics...

don't do this piece if you just wanna look KOOOOL..you'll look a right idiot..serves you right..

price: fifteen snifters..£15...

What is it then? The spectator is aksed to simply think of one of these numbers, and memorise the object associated with the number. This is all done with the performer looking away from the spectator.

The performer requests that the spectator is to visualise the object clearly in their mind; and is also asked not to say a single word for the rest of the effect.

Without 'fishing' the performer describes definite features of the thought of object, and then proceeds to name it.

Instantly repeatable with a different object mentally selected!

Works 100% of the time, no guessing involved!

my words in this order say the following sentences:
i'll just give you a brief few words, then give you my quickie performance of it i did this morning..too eager for my own good..

anyway..beautifully designed card...oh and this is NOT mental yarn by any stretch of the tongue...completely different..a lovely little tactile item, with lots of hidden sneaky psychology built into the whole thing...

does what it says on the tin..if it had a tin..(no tin included)..here's what happened this morning:

I got two people to do it, one thought of a number and remembered the word next to it...and try and send that word to the second person...

I asked the second person to relax and just quickly look at one word upon the list...to see if the first person really could mentally influence them in a free decision...

so I got the first person to start describing their object, the one they were trying to transmit/influence the other to pick...

the word and description matched...

apologies to mr. brook though, I didn't read the entire instructions..

but they are written out in his usually high standards, with a script and the hidden psychology behind everything...

anyway..that was me, this morning, outside the bakers...warm bread in hand, and I calmly walked away leaving two people agog and looking at each other in amazement..oh and swearing..

excellent product...well done paul...

by the way, i didnt get chance to read the whole 65 pages that come with it via pdf so the performance above was just my dabbling with it cos i was feeling cheeky..you get full scripts/performance tips from the brook himself...
9/10...I'm almost sexually attracted to the card...it's coming with me everywhere from now on...[/b]

Sounds good. Why do you do this to me, I have a big enough purchase list as it is.

Barton: Have you read the Bible, Pete?
Pete: Holy Bible?
Barton: Yeah.
Pete: Yeah, I think so. Anyway, I've heard about it.

This is very clever and clearly reflects a lot of thought and quite a bit of road testing. The accompanying manual is thorough and much in line with Paul's books. This will sit comfortably next to my Sanctum II card.

I received mine from Paul yesterday...

I took one look at the card and knew Paul had nailed it again! Last night I knocked the socks off a room full of NLP Master Practitioners GP's and Clinical Psychologists, brought the house down with something the size of a business card... GENIUS!

Repeatable? Yes, some will struggle with this but only those that struggle with, say... their laces. So is it repeatable? YES! In fact you will have to resist the urge not to do it again and again

James Brown

P.S. I am a good friend of Paul but the bast*rd still isn't paying me a penny.

Ahh, well, I do struggle with my laces... But I want this anyway. As long as it doesn't involve tying shoes.

Look's very nice actually, I was considering putting this on my CUPS list the other day when I was looking at it and after these statements it has just moved up a notch or two or three

Isn't a CUPS list a contradiction in terms?

Very much so Todd  I meant it's on my inner circle CUPS list not the outer circle, Yep this is getting confusing credit card, pay now, name and address, confirm payment, done. Simple answer to a confusing problem

Right at the start of the instructions Paul stresses that, instead of leaping to the nitty gritty of how to do the effect, you need to read all the instructions from the start. For most blokes this is like being expected to actually read the VCR instructions or stop on a journey to ask for directions - we just don’t do that. In this case, however, take Paul's words to heart and do as he says (we won't tell anyone you did so!). As usual for Paul's products, not only do you get the 'how to' you also get the history and development of the effect, the tweaks and changes, the mistakes made and learned from - in other words, almost as though you'd developed the effect yourself. This leads to greater understanding and can only help you to perform Thought Reader to a very high standard.

I recieved mine today and although a bit of a novice i felt comfortable after reading all the instructions (ok nearly all) to give it a go.

three people - success rate 2 out of 3 but recovered on the third as per instructions so i suppose its 3 out of 3.

very simple but very clever!!
