The latest custom Bycycle deck is the Karnival Deck available from the ever-inventive Owen Packard of Big Blind Media.
http://www.bigblindmedia.com/karnival.htm
Oh my... what a thing of beauty.
These cards are made by the USPCC and are of classic Bicycle quality. They handle a dream... that's enought about the USPCC.
The artwork is by renowned French artist Sam Hayles and they are truely creepy. The back design is NOT you typical negative, blue, green, black or silver version of 'ol fashioned Bikes...no, no, no. These are bespoke (no pun intended) original bits of pasteboard art and lovely they are. The printing gives the cards an aged feel without it being laboured. The artwork is gothic and dark but still looks classy. Karnival is the perfect name, I'm just expecting the Ghost Train from "Something Wicked This Way Comes" to sound it's whistle in the distance.
The tuck case (also original) has a nice bar-code-proximety tool to be used, one of the creepy jokers holds another cards identity should you choose to point it out, if not it won't be noticed. All ofg the cards have a very subtle but easily seen one-way design easily seen in ribbon spreads but in no way obvious to any spectator and finally an everso helpful DB card is included.
Check out the prices as well...about a fiver (GBP) with all sorts of shipping and bulk buy deals.
Treat yourself to a class-A deck and support one of the best magic companies out there! _________________ If we can hit that bullseye then the rest of the dominoes will fall like a house of cards... Checkmate! |

I'll almost certainly get some of these, they look really fun and I'm happy to benefit BBM rather than any other named magic brand who may or may not churn out one "specialist" deck after another...!
My only concern is that they look quite white, and ghosts (although I don't actually own any) are my least favourite "fancy" deck...
And Tom - since when did you move to America? "Tuck case"?! It's a card box, man! _________________ "You do not have a soul. You are a soul; you have a body." |

Hardly breaking news, I know, but...
I bought a deck of these some months ago, but only started using them quite recently. What I've noticed is that the finish seemed to break down very quickly and they wore out far faster than a deck of normal bikes. After about ten days, I couldn't even get a decent fan out of them.
A bit disappointing in that respect, but they look(ed) great. It's rather put me off buying the Karnival Asassins, though. _________________ If you've enjoyed the show half as much as I have, I've enjoyed it twice as much as you... |

Whether you poo poo the idea of fancy decks or not, you can't deny these look pretty spesh.
I got some of the original Karnivals when they first came out, admired them, then put them away and grabbed a regular deck, vowing never to waste money on fancy decks again.
As time went by i picked them up every now and then and have to say they were actually pretty damn high quality and long lasting.
Think i'll resist on these though. Times is hard. |

Might grab 1 or 2 of these, I get a good reaction with them when performing for the 10-16 crowd, and I like them for scary-themed routines.
The rest of the cash for new cards however, will go toward getting some of the upcoming Phoenix decks. |
