There is a 'Haunted Swing' at Blackpool Pleasure Beach which is hidden away. Good fun but it will lead you quite nautious. Bit simpler presentation that Hex. Hex is the whole package in terms of lighting and audio. A great job in a very atmospheric old building.

Yeah i remember that ride. It was a few years ago now when I was still at college, but the rotating room still sticks in my mind.

At first I thought it was going to be rubbish, as we all walked through a semi-errie builiding, guided by some un-scary Alton Towers bloke, with about as much enthusiam for his job as a pay toilet attendant. (You would get sick of it though wouldn't you?)

But then we got to the final room. Genius. I remember my mind & body being confussed at the sight and feel of it. Despite everyone knowing what was happening, and that it obviously wasn't real - it didin't stop us enjoying it.

A bit like any magic trick really? Most spectators 'know' what we do isn't magic (let's face people aren't as stupid as they were in the middle ages!) But it doesn't stop them enjoying our tricks any less if presented properly.

Thanks for starting this thread mate - I'd forgotten all about that ride, it's certainly taken me back. You can't beat a bit of reminiscence.

The thing I find about alton towers is that the wait is normally too long to wait for the rides I had to wait almost an hour for the log flume and it was rubish.

Oh I LOVED the Haunted Swing at Blackpool! One of my favourite memories of my most favourite place.
Blackpool is tacky yet full of magnificent and historical character and no insultingly long queues for rides! AND there's magic shows!
I seem to be the only person still in love with Blackpool these days. Methinks a TM excursion to Blackpool should be arranged by someone other than myself  so that I can tag along :D
