All,
I could not find a thread on this quasi recent release, so I wanted to start one here. I found Alex's work refreshing, quite clever and full of wonderful ideas. I really like a number of things about this book, here are a few reasons why:
1. Some very clever workable material
2. Alex's great writing "voice"
3. The fact that these ideas are real-world workers
Just some thoughts...
I like the multiple (modified) applications from the world of card magic. Several methods common to the pasteboard aficionado, have been keenly adapted for some very sneaky work. I love it. I like that Alex that has taken some methods, to apply in an entirely new way. Wonderful.
"Want" has really added something to this genre of effect. I won't say any more about this publically. It's quite good
"Sixth Sense Ploy": I think it is perfect. Alex has created a great visual display, which I am sure dramatically improves any presentation you care to use this for. This would be Uber-cool to use with ANY binary system. This is fantastic.
Thief of Thoughts is an common-genre effect, but I particulary like Alex's (pseudo) explanation and frame. Another winner.
LOVE-HATE: Simply wonderful. This is great. I am emailing Alex about this directly. Perfect.
and much more...
I am sure Alex is quite proud of this release and should be. This is a no-brainer.
