CAJ DECK

Postby dat8962 » Dec 17th, '04, 00:37

The Clowns & Jesters Deck of Magic Gaff Cards.

Not sure if this has been reviewed before but I did try a search and no results came along. Anyway, I bought this deck today over the counter as I was mesmorised by it. The deck itself is a fully gaffed deck printed on bicycle stock and it comes with a high quality printed booklet that outlines six routines - none of which I have yet read.

So why review this without the routines? Because there must be an infinate amount of routines that can be created with your own imagination and some time, so even without the booklet it's worth the £12.99 price I paid on this basis.

What you get - all printed on red bike backs unless stated:

10, J, Q, K, A of Diamonds printed in black
10, J, Q, K, A of Hearts printed in black
The same for Spades and clubs printed in red

2 and a half of clubs, spades, hearts and diamonds
Half of spades (half an ace with 1/2)
Jack of hearts but printed with a Q and a heart in opposite corners
Queen of clubs and ten of diamonds on face with all pips pushed into one corner towards the 10 and away from the Queen
Pair of kings printed in twisted sister style
Normal King of diamonds?
the zero of hearts, clubs, spades and diamonds
Normal king of clubs with 2 half overlapping red bike backs printed on the reverse
King of spades, on the reverse printed quarters of kings of hearts, clubs & spades and a quarter red back bike printed as if ribbon spread vertically

And so it goes on with double sided cards with twisted sister style prints on both sides and in mixed colours etc.

Anyone else got one? going to get one?

Sounds interesting, but it would help if you'd used the reviews template.

Then you might have included details on where to find it.

Thanks Saxmad for finding and posting a link.

In response to Part Timer, I didn't on this occasion use the normal reviews template as I didn't buy this deck to use the included routines. Instead, I bought the deck to use the gaff cards individually to try and develop some of my own routines and to consider building them into some existing routines to increase their impact. On this basis, I found it difficult to give a fair assessment and award a score as I wasn't reviewing the product as it was intended to be sold.

I just thought that other may be interested in this deck for the same reason that I was, and I wanted to bring it to everyone's attention on this basis only. Hopefully everyone will be able to make their own minds up as to whether they can use them or not.

The link gives an indication as to the difficulty of the routines if anyone is interested in buying this for for use with the included routines.

I've been playing around with this today and so far is showing a lot of potential - example, changing a red king of hearts to a black king of hearts using an erdnase, DL's, Twisted sister varient with kings and jacks instead of queens and jokers (still developing storyline).

There's so much here that an experienced cardie could / can use it's a great buy, particularly when you consider that a single gaff card is costing in the region of £3.00.

one Q: How MAny cards are there :?:
It seems a bit expensive if just buying a deck of gaffs.

Worked out from above that there are 56 cards included for the price and when you consider that Tigers etc. are coming in at around £18 for a gaff deck I feel that you pehpaps get more for your money with this one (well a little bit more anyway).

As stated, there are some routines included in the accompanying booklet so that helps but I think that for the money, you get some cards that you can't get elsewhere.

As someone else said recently in a similar post, If you buy gaffs individually for £1, then this is great value. It all depends on how you look at it!

I think it isn't that much expensive. People buys gaffed decks and then wonders what to do with them. Then they just do some color changes.
This comes with routines which is very good. I'm thinking of getting it, thanks for the review.

I made this offer prior - but not in this forum

Since a lot of discussion is here about the CAJ deck vs the FAKO
deck vs the Penguine deck, etc........ and what is the CAJ deck,
and since the deck is mostly available in the US but not Britain
(Any British wholesalers out there?).................

I will send a sample - The Crazy Kings trick (just the cards
- the tricks are self evident) Free - so you can see some cards -
Great red Bike Back cards and great tricks.

Now here is the tough part - You need to paypal me $1.50 for postage
at Stampnstuff4@earthlink.net (thats 2 F's and a 4) - I am in th US
and I cant take coins - but if there is a paper 1 pound note in
Britain - you can mail one to me. If you are in US or Canada - just mail a buck ($1 - canadian or american)

to:

Caj Magic / Stampnstuff
3763 E Colorado Blvd
#100
Pasadena, CA 91107 USA

Last week an australian person mailed me a 2 1/2 Dollar Coin -
I still sent him the cards anyways but I can't do anything with the coin
so that is why I am asking for paypal.

I can't keep this offer good forever - Started it in March and had about 100 go out in a week - but I will until I run out of KINGS Cards (and I have about 200 or so sets left to give as promotions)

and don't be greedy - 1 per person (and don't send one for
your wife/girlfreind/dog/cat/mother/friends mother.... be fair)

Free Cards - Now whose deck is better?

Well we know not whether you are affiliated with cajmagic or stampnstuff at all. If you could show some proof on either webpage, I'm sure we'd all be interested.

Personally, I would be happy to to steal a pound :D thus the caution

Heh :)
All it takes is a few bored hours of registering a hundred different usernames to create a whole wodge of "good feedback" - as for stealing £1, it's absolutely worth it if you can persuade 1000 to go for it!

Apologies cajmagic if you are genuine, because your generous offer is being cynically snubbed - but for good reason. If you really are an online trader, you more than likely are aware of the 1001 scams running that sound a lot like this offer, and you shouldn't be surprised that few people are taking you up on it!
