Review
First of all BoL isn’t really an effect in itself, it’s more of an add-on for D’lites.
So if you are not a D’lite fan this is not for you. It basically does exactly what it says on all the websites. The performer can put his captured light into a brown paper bag where it floats down to rest, after 10 lights are placed in the bag the performer blows them all out with one light breath.
You cannot throw them across the room into the bag as someone posted in the D’lite thread unless you have an assistant holding the bag.


Overall
Effect 8/10 ( if you like D’lites ) Would have been higher but the lights pile up a 2 inch gap down the centre of the bag not full width as shown in the Ad’s
Construction 7/10 Very disappointed with that. Take two heavy AA batteries. Would have been much better with some button batteries. It’s operated the same as a D-lite. I will have to mod this myself as the thing sounds like a rifle being cocked maybe ok for stage, but not for close up.
Fantastic add-on for d-lites as it allows you to detatch from the light and produce multiple lights. Shame they didn’t think a little bit more about its design. Oh and importantly you must have a red d’lite
But I think I must add I’m happy with it and will get a lot of mileage out of it once it is silenced.

Yes I too was disappointed in the Bag O Lites. The video shows a different version. What the hell is that all about? The version I have, the lights move too quick and pile up in a 2 inch strip rather than fill the bag up. I will be sending this back. I will try and get a version made that is like the video. Is this false advertisement or what?

Mark Mason does a bag of delites for about £150. I think it's called misters delite. Anyway, it's a really good piece of kit.

you do get what you pay for . better (in my humble view) to go for a top quality product than a shoddy imitator.

I've got two of Mark Mason's Misers Delight bags and the ones you want are the version 2 units.

They're around the £135 mark EACH from what I remember unless they've gone up but you get a great piece of kit! If you buy two then they will give you a fairly decent discount.

There are two settings. Automatic fills up the bag on a timer or the infra-red setting only fills up the bag one at a time when you wave your hand over the top of the bag, such as simulating the dropping of a light inside the bag.

You also have a number of dip switches to play around with so you can set one bag to fill one by one and another to fill all instantly. With these settings you can fill one bag and then pour the lights into the second bag.

You can also set the bags to deduct lights as if you were taking them out.

The bags themselves are well constructed and are a translucent white so you see the lights very well but you cannot see the circuit board.

I definately recommend these onces and I'm not surprised that you've not got anything decent in the £20 to £30 price range.

I created an effect like this earlier this year as a custom job. I'd never heard of the original. Unfortunately, there was a static problem in the triggering, which I managed to overcome just after it was too late to use (isn't that always the way).

It's possible to create quite a superb device with lots of LEDs at a reasonable cost by doing most of the hard work in software. There's no reason it has to be a bag of D'Lites.
