The Effect
From Site:
Imagine being able to show your hand completely empty, then borrow a pen and write the word coin on your finger. With the shake of your hand the word coin transforms into a real coin. Or you approach a group of spectators show your hand to have nothing on it and suddenly your name appears on your finger. These are only some of the unlimited possibilities that you can do with the X Finger principle.

Cost
19.95

Difficulty
(1=easy to do, 2=No sleights, but not so easy, 3=Some sleights used,
4=Advanced sleights used, 5=Suitable for experienced magicians only)

Ok, so hype being what it is... that is almost exclusively ALL this is. I realize that the vast majority of you probably already know this from simply watching the promo. However us noobs who aren't familiar with slights might get sucked in (I did).

Needless to say that even after I learned it and mastered it (about 2 hours worth of work in reality) anyone I performed it for figured it out fairly quickly. Now it may work better in a bar or busy setting but these were just casual encounters at my home or after dinner. Any time to focus on it and its a lost caused.

Overall

While not worthless if you know NO slights its a pretty easy one to master it has little practical value. You can thank Ellusion for over hyping and under delivering again.

I mostly wrote this because talkmagic comes up a lot in google for trick reviews. Therefore to be complete here it is.

I give it a 1 out of 10.

I am of the opinion that this effect should not be used as a mainstream effect, but incorporate it into a reveal/vanish at the end of a powerful effect, when the spectator is not expecting something out of your fingers. That will only add to the strength of your effect. I think you should review the context of the usage of this effect.

To give you an example, I hear many magicians complain about the Gecko, and it's 'problems' . However, they fail to realize how useful it is for 'cleanups' ! Anytime you have an extra card/coin/torn corner or any thing you want to dispose off, Gecko it !

I agree with hardik. It is a simple trick that probably is very quick and over with. Use it as an addition.

Also, they claimed it was a trick that makes words appear on your finger, and your claiming how it did just that. So maybe they did deliver :P
