Broken Wand for Patrick Page

Postby Barefoot Boy » Feb 12th, '10, 05:16

I`m sorry to report that Patrick Page has passed away. He was a good friend of Corinda`s and one of the most knowledgeable men in magic. Rest in peace, Patrick.. :(

Blessings on thee, little man

Its with a heavy heart that I type the following words....

Magic legend Pat Page has died.

His contribution to our art is unlikely to be topped.

Like Ali Bongo , A true walking magical encyclopedia, and someone always willing to share.
writer, inventor, mentor, performer.. you name it, Pat was the best at it.
His passing has left a void in magic, that will be impossible to fill.

.rest in peace Pat...

Oh that's bad news.

Pat was a legend. And a truly nice fella, the few times I was lucky enough to meet him.

Im deeply upset about this news. Patrick was one of my examiners for my Magic Circle audition. I didnt know it was going to be him until after id done the Pat Page Drink production and saw him beamingup and smiling at me.

A truly sad day. Toppits all round today in tribute.

Why does the world of magic seem so much smaller now?

Is it because Pat was such a giant?

This further dampened an already rainy and gloomy day. :(

Barton: Have you read the Bible, Pete?
Pete: Holy Bible?
Barton: Yeah.
Pete: Yeah, I think so. Anyway, I've heard about it.

From Derren Brown's Blog today:

I’ve just heard the very sad news that Patrick Page has passed away. Magicians worth their salt will be know that Patrick was a genius of our craft, and a famously generous man. I knew him a little from his consultancy work on some of my projects: he was a brilliantly rude, sharp-witted, sensationally likeable Scot, better at magic and more knowledgeable than any of us. All of us at Objective are devastated by the news. For some time, the sheer force of his personality has kept him going through illness, but now he doesn’t need to fight any more. At the same time, as with any powerfully creative force, he will live on strongly and defiantly through his work and the legacy he leaves. There’s a bit of Patrick every night in Enigma, and in countless other performances happening now across the world.

Very sad news indeed. Pat was definetely one of the greats of magic, a true legend. [list]I watched an interview with Pat a few months ago on you tube which was quite interesting. It is in a few parts, the link below is to part 1, the subsequent parts will be easy to find http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iU2bkmlU4fE
