Unknown leopard illusion?

Postby Morris_Starlight » Tue Jan 19, 2010 8:09 pm

During the mid 1980's there was an illusion act incolving leopards at Austen Brothers Circus, does anyone know whoes act it was? A friend who was zoo manager at the time thought it may have been Fred Van Buren, but wasn't certain, and is interested.

Please help!!

i dont think Fred used a leopard in his act. You can check this, because Fred has a very good tribute web site.Andrew might be worth asking.

Just a thought, but It wasn't Eric Zee was it? He used a leopard.

I asked Andrew already but he said he didn't know. Will look up Eric Zee though - all I know about the leopards used was that they were left with the circus when the act moved on.

RE Eric zee and leopard.Back in the late 70's and early 80's I was a dancer in various end of the pier shows and reviews and worked with "zee and co"
on a few occasions. He did have a declawed leopard called scorpio which he used in his act.Steve

The photograph of Eric Lindsay was taken in Dubai in 2002 when he performed for the Sultan of Dubai. I interviewed Eric for Vampire Over London: Bela Lugosi in Britain, a biography of Bela Lugosi. You can read the complete interview at:http://beladraculalugosi.wordpress.com/ on the "1951 British Dracula Tour - Exclusive Interviews With The Cast & Company" page.

Eric and I are currently working a new interview which will cover the whole of his life and career.
