Serial Killer is stunning, and a useful effect to have in the back of your mind - I'm always keeping an eye out for a chance to perform it "impromptu" - hasn't happened yet, but then miracles take time.

Having said that, I think On Mephisto's Shoulder is probably my least favourite of Paul's books - there are some wonderful ideas, but nothing like as cunning as the Gift or Good Vibrations, and the Brook Test is a lovely extension to what was already a superb idea.

Alchemical Tools, of course, is in a league of its own.

Your reality, sir, is lies and balderdash, and I'm delighted to say that I have no grasp of it whatsoever.

Yeah I just finished Alchemical Tools. Loved it. I've had to hide my card to stop myself ordering all the rest of them!!!

I have a fairly good idea of how Serial Killer is performed, I just want Paul's Subtleties. Needless to say all his stuff is at the top of my To Buy List when I next get some spare cash.

In terms of presentation it is as it appears on the video on Paul Brook's site.

Jacquin wrote:I have to agree. Serial Killer is superb and in my opinion a worker. It is easy to set up and could easily be done more than once at a function. It is not entirely impromptu but will look like that to the spectator having the effect done on them.

I appreciate it is not for everybody. Get over it. Try it and see.

Wouldn't a bit of pre-show hypnosis be easier Anthony?

Arguably no. Serial Killer just requires more patience.

If my assumption of the method is correct then I'd agree with Ant. As the main effect is easiest to perform at big events, the chance for a hypnotic preshow would be awkward to do unnoticed.

Just to add to this. I've had Pauls book a long time now (Bought it last summer) and, like many, bought the book for Serial Killer. Just amazing, not only is it now 1 element of the finale to my stage show it is brilliant at walkaround events. I've pretty much performed this at every walk around I've done since getting the book. I usually perform it just before I end, as one of my last routines..always goes down a storm, jaws hitting the floor as I leave the venue... what a beautiful effect.. a life saver. Other effects are great aswell. I regularly perform "Telepathic Touch" and I've got my own adapted version of dearly departed. Fair is fair is a brilliant piece of work.

Get this !!!

Serial Killer and Dearly Departed are what really made this book for me, both having been greatly put to use since learning them and the subtleties that help make them what they are.
Though Serial Killer is the piece that has garnered the most attention, i'd say my fave piece within is Dearly Departed, such a fantastic, well constructed and thought through routine.
