lol yep overall this is a good effect, but i recently put it at my friend's shop for sale. i would say this illusion is very good and visual, the secret alone is worth the price. but it is quite difficult to find a thin glass table u can conveniently perform(sometimes the angles just doesnt seem right). personally, i would recommend descent over this, but dont let this review stop you from buying this efefct. its a great effect, just that i cant find the chances to use it often. also, this takes some time to practise. so if you are ready to spend some time practising, buy it. if not, do not ruin this beautiful trick

I'm interested in this an d have been for some time but have been put off so far becuase of not knowing the significance of the ring.

My problem is that I have such large fingers that I can't buy a ring in the shops to fit unless it's for my pinkie. I don't wish to waste the best part of £40 on something that I potentially won't be able to perform.

If there's anyone that could offer some advice on the ring via PM, without revealing - just to put my mind at rest then this would be appreciated.

I bought this but I'm afraid it was a CUPs purchase as I don't have a glass table (D'oh!) and the coins that come with it are not in circulation in this country so buying your own would be extra.
I can tell you the ring is of high significance in performing the effect so you probably can't perform it if your fingers are too big for a ring sorry. Why don't you try descent instead? I don't own it so I'm not sure if it requires a ring or not or you could just use simple sleight of hand to make the coin go through the glass

Get descent Dat it looks very similar and is pure sleight. Big fingers would in fact be an advantage for the effect.

well descent is a very clever and wonderful effect as well. however both effects have their own advantages. this post is about melting point so i would only talk about melting point here. you can actually replace a ring with a plaster. it is taught in the disc that comes with it. actually without watching you can actually guess how the plaster replaces the ring. that is all i can say

I've not seen descent but have recently re-kindled my interest in melting point.

A few lay friends of mine were astounded by a coin through glass table routine that they watched on YouTube and asked if I could do that - in a sort of challenge.

Anyway, next time we meet up I've got to perform it - hence the interest.
